Sent DX7 in to Horizon to have them check out because of 2 unexplainable crashes. They gave it a clean bill of health. Can I trust the Tx & rx's or sell them for Futaba Fasst. DX7 & 3 AR7000's

If these are your only 2 choices I'd go for DX7, but I think the best deal for your buck would 10CHP. I'm a Futaba lover only I don't like the 7C only because it does show any graphs on the screen.

I have to sell the DX7 set up in order to get another TX & Rx's. Do I really need a 10CHP?

I don't know if you really need it, but if you ask me it's a lot more of a transmitter that the two your are looking at.

Maybe you are misunderstanding my post. I am wondering if I should sell my DX7 and Rx's and buy Futaba Faast because I have had 2 crashes that are unexplainable.

Horizon says everything is fine. I do not want to lose another heli. 1 crash was my freestyle 90. I really don't trust the DX7 & AR7000's

We seem to be hearing more and more often that Spektrum guys are having problems.

Are you going to put in the for sale ad that you had unexplained crashes and don't trust the system any more?

Of course I will give full details along with the paperwork I got from Horizon stating everything checks out fine. To do anything less would be untruthful.
Unlike some people, I am not out to rip-off, scam or sell junk to any one. I have great feedback and AM going to keep it that way.

This Tx & Rx's have been taken care of! I have no clue as to what happened but I had 2 helis go down and that is enough for me.
Would you trust the system after 2 crashes?

Thats good to hear, there's plenty of people that would take their problems and stick a postage stamp on them and let someone else find out the hard way.

There's a TON of those radios around but I think its kind of like airline flights, you don't hear anything about the millions of miles logged every year, just the one or two crashes.(not that it doesn't suck to be on the one that hits the ground and all)

I'd start with the stuff you didn't send to Horizon. Electrical system and servos. Check stuff over carefully. Check the transmitter antenna connection. Do range tests. Look for vibration and at your overall installation. I've been around the hobby a while and while bad equipment comes along from time to time it's more often our fault than the radio.

What kind of unexplainable crashes are you talking about? Was it something electrical or was it based on the heli itself?

Finally got my Tx & Rx's back from Horizon. This was what the Tech said;
"Tested transmitter functions and output. All OK
Bound all 3 Recievers to your DX7 in model #12 set to aircraft. Verified latest filmware installed. Tested all channels with high speed servos. All channels working correctly. No charge"

So I ask. Do I trust this and go fly?

I am really leaning that way. Want to see how things go this weekend. Funny thing is that I have not had a lick of trouble untill these 2 "events".

What are the circumstances of your crashes, please describe both cases, was it on the same rebuilt heli with the same gear?
In answer to your question and what others have hinted at here, No I would not trust your radio.... or your batts or your servos or anything else, until you find the cause. Problems like this never go away, even with a new radio....why? Well it might be something non radio that's causing the radio to fail... But first, try the best you can to explain what happened.
