I dont think 'hot' is good. there is something rubbing or too tight somewhere and it needs to be found.

Yellow Tygon tubing that is safe for gas.

new question...what do I need to analize the RF spectrum for noise and output that would affect the heli while flying..I am doing AP work...don't want to Jam the RF on it..I am using the Spectrum dx7 and a heli RX with 2 mini RX on the left and right of chopper bodyframe.

do any of the bearings in the tail feel notchy, or tight. also check the bearing that is supporting the torque tube. If the gears spacing is proper, the only other components that could be dragging to enough to build up heat would be bearings. Sometimes a bearing will give you a warning that it is about to go. Excessive heat build up is sometimes that warning.

Also check to make sure that your input and output shafts at the tail arent rotating inside of the bearing. If the shafts are slipping inside the bearing instead of riding the bearing like they should, that may cause some heat, and destroy a shaft at the same time.

One item you can pick up is a "flight logger" which will tell you how many errors your RX picked up - assuming you have an RX which has a flight logger compatible firmware. The latest AR7000 firmware is capable along with a number of other DSM2 RX's.

Gas Line
With the fuel line issue you should really change all your fuel lines immediately from silicone including your in tank pick up line if it is the same. The silicone line reacts to gasoline and will swell and could fall off.You dont need this happening in flight. Most garden machinery shops will keep suitable line for your needs.
