i just found a really bad blockage in my exhaust extension. Changed it and re-routed the exhaust. but due to the nature of my tuned pipe I have to have the exit pointing out of the left front corner of where the gun is up front. My mistake was trying to have a curved section inside the fuselage so the exhaust would exit the bottom.

heading out now to fly

wow what a difference! lots more power, so it kinda looks like 20mm gun exhaust coming from the left front side of the nose.

so now I have to do the pitch and power curves all over again. Got 2 really good flights in. video to follow.

I have a suggestion though. I think that while doing all your trimming and pitch/power curves you put the stock raptor landing gear (or whatever plastic gear you have) on the helicopter. I've had it settle back in a few times and at 11.5 lbs its a little tough on that aluminum landing gear. The plastic can flex more

well I dont know why this gopro camera kept shutting off. maybe it doesnt like vibes. I had 2 nice long flights, including some fairly moderate forward flight, but this is all the video I have to show for it.

for those of you who dont already know I have had a change of direction with my 60 cobra. I am going electric. I was fortunate to find a TPPacks BOX for 50 bucks. So the box, the motor, ESC are on their way.
Going to go with 10S 5000mah for power.

So, to make the long story short, basically with my back being fused I have learned that I need to have something that I can just turn on, set it on the ground and fly it. I have a hard time with extended bending down and fiddling with gas, batteries, starting, etc.

so electric is the best option for me now. cant wait

You're going to like "The Box". I have two of them and they put out some good power. Runs very cool too.

Make sure you keep the gear lash correctly adjusted and check the bearings in the shaft that runs through the large gear. I've had to replace those bearings a couple times already.

ok raptor people, how do I convince that clutch bell to come out? it is just in the lower bearing right? shouldnt it come out if I just tap it gently all the way around?

+1 on splitting the frames to get it out.
I was told by a local "expert" you could just tap it down through. I tapped it down through and out came a small ring of plastic along with the assembly. I split the frame apart to find out where this small plastic ring came from and it was part of the frame that captures the bearing . Without the piece that I had just tapped out, there is nothing to support the bearing on the bottom. I ended up replacing the frame because I wasn't comfortable with the bottom of the bearing totaly exposed with no support. Lesson learned the hard way.
