This is the conversion that I used.. I bought 2 of the them from a friend here on RR.. I don't think they're made any more.. This is the easiest and least expensive way to go..

Hi jzanutto, do you have any idea how much your Cobra weights with the .50 engine?

not sure, havent weighed it. But the fuselage itself was surprisingly light even with all the paint and detailing.

just from putting it together, I would say 90 percent of the total weight is just the raptor chassis.

this model really needs it too. once mine was done and all green I basically was kinda repulsed by it. Just to big and featureless.

with the panel lines and shading it becomes more attractive

I still havent put my gun on, I figure I would have broken it off several times now, fiddling with chassis installation stuff and fuel tubing, etc.

electric would have been far easier.....

I hear you with regards to stuff breaking off.. I'm trying to plan as best as I can with how stuff goes on and when.. Working on the light installation and trying to plan that out with finish sanding, priming and painting... Gots to be careful!!!

I have a problem, and I hope you dont - I think its that water based floor sealer stuff. I have some spots that are splitting, and curling open. Like on the edges of my trans housing, and just some random spots on the fuselage.

and I let that stuff sit and dry up good to. Hey Doc Tim, you ever had it do that to you?

I used the Floor Sealer Not the Primer/Sealer ... I also applied 1/2 oz. Fiberglass cloth with it . Looked just like regular fiberglassing without the fumes and drying time .. Easy to sand and painted up nice. You might have been better off using the floor sealer .. it does NOT have all those fillers in it.

I've only been putting primer on but I too used the sealer and 1/2 oz fiberglass and everything seems fine..
