Hey guys.. I've got a Raptor V2 that has all stock parts. Are there any ESSENTIAL upgrades that you guys think might have merit? I see that the Titan has a push/pull elevator. Something that I see is maybe a metal tail pitch slider? What about metal t/r blade grips? Just let me know. Thanx.

The stock plastic head works fine if you want to save a few bucks initially. If you are going to be running the head at/above 2000 RPM that's when you may want to consider a metal head. If you are going to get a metal head you may want to look at the Titan SE head stuff. I run a Mavrikk metal head hub, no problems and it's only $50.

Other non-cost stuff. Replace the fuel tank clunk lines, put some shrink wrap around the tail drive gear to keep the pin in place.

Other low cost stuff. Get the red dampers and 20g paddles if you want faster cyclic.

Also, the kit muffler is a good one but if you are running high speed (again at/above 2k RPM) you'll want a high performance muffler/pipe.

Although your advice is highly appreciated I still have to inquire elsewhere for additional input! I think this is wise no?

I think you can trust BarracudaHockey. He is pretty knowledgeable. The thing with Raptors are they have been around so long, it's nearly common knowledge on what to upgrade, and how to keep them flying.

The Mavrikk metal headblock for $50 and the $5 pv0499 tail hub are considered mandatory for anything more than hovering around with a low headspeed. Although the plastic head will work, it's prone to wear quickly.

No ESSENTIAL upgrades needed. It's fine as it is. But if you start to upgrade first thing would be the SUS tail hub. That's because there are signs that the stock one is a bit weak.
If you want to do 3D then a lot of upgrades come in view: metal head block, carbon fibre blades, red dampers, carbon tail blades, green paddles, maybe governer (though I fly without one and I like it), uniflow fuel setup, digital servos, voltage regulator, fast Rx/Tx combination like spectrum or latest Futaba, stainless steel main shaft,

Metal tail grips sounds like heavy and total waste of money.
If I remember right the elev push/pull requires the tail servo to be put on the tail boom which I consider a downgrade instead of an upgrade.

LOL just ask around as much as you like. Remember though that if Baraccuda is your teacher then he might not feel comfortable without some upgrades that he recommended even if we say you dont need them.

I agree with your entire post but I consider the tail hub mandatory. But he's way down in key west so I'm just phone support not his actual instructor or anything.
