We have now finished the design of the Orbit AV 320 Gymble and camera mount system for under slung options - and we are happy with the results. We are now looking at designing some lower frames for the Maxi Joker 3 and here are a couple of quick CAD images of what i have in mind.

It would be great to get some feed back from those who are already opperating a front mount system on the Joker and those who have their own ideas.

My first idea was to use the AV320 as it is with vibration dampers/issolation i am not sure who critical it is on the Joker but i am sure it will help.

The extension out the back will allow people to counter the weight of the gimbal with the battery pack. I thaught it would be good to keep the batteries as high as possible which will help keep the overall CofG up high.
EDIT - Please note these are rough CAD drawings there is alot more work required.

Looks nice, but way too much side area, which will be problematic in wind.

Rhett..... I can't fly, but the Profi sure can.

Just a bit of an update, havent had much time to spend on joker plus AV320; but getting there slowley. I have been working on a 5 axes gymble which has both electronic and mechanical stabilisation. The end result will allow 35 X zoom.

Probably cause he makes drawings with scale and measurements

Never argue with an idiot, he'll drag you down to his level and beat you with experience...

You can always have bigger section cut outs like from coterworks joker 2 frame to take care of side wind.

Love the design. The idea of having gimbal as close to the main mast is the holly grail of front mount. See if you can move the motor back like copterworks. We will anyways use gerd's electric tail for chopper like this.

all the best, keep us posted when you plan to launch it.

Thank you for the comments - I am definitely going to be looking at moving the motor to the back and will talk to Gerd to make sure there will be no issues. I think they may be looking at this them selves. Initially I want to keep the design as simple as possible and not make to may changes to the Joker as it is.

With regards to the 5 axes gymble, the end result if I am successful will allow 35X zoom. I don’t know yet if it will work but this is what I would like to actchieve. This is what makes it fun; Engineering something which has not been possible in the past. It will also depend where the gymble will be used and the physical environment it is in.
