Hi Everyone,
Well i purchased a new belt for the tail rotor on my 450. I put it on and i gave a the blades a spin and smooth as can be. So one flight i come back and i spin and the belt seems like its making clicking noise and its not smooth anymore. So i take it apart again and redo the belt. Smooth again. One more flight same damn thing!!! making noise and not smooth anymore. What can this be? i tried checking the tension and i can touch the belt to the other side with some tension. im not sure whats going on?!?! any help is greatly appreciated!

Look through the back open part on your tail case. Did the belt fall off the pulley?

no its on there.... everytime i go out to fly it seems like something happens. then i get clicking noise almost. its very small clicking noise when i spin the main blades, but you can tell its not smooth as if i were to take it completely off and redo the belt and back tail part.

You probably have the belt twisted, take it out and reinstall it.
also you can take out the roller/guide on the tail case and leave it off.

Yes it sits on top of the belt at the tail.it doesnt have to be there, most just take them off.

yeah checked canaopy not that, its more of like a belt sound rubbing almost....... its really windy here in vegas today so i just flew it and it seems fine but the tail sometimes moves a bit but its gusty.

should the blades spin freely like really loose or only a couple times with the belt on?

I just spun the blades on mine, with a good spin it turns about 8 to 10 revolutions and slows to a stop, be sure to oil everthing every few flights.

I use triflow, you can use a very light weight oil,put a little on the main shaft, top and bottom of the swash and around the tail pitch slider.also you want the belt looser, i make mine almost to the point of slipping.

Could be a little slack. How is it in a CCW ripper ? does it maintain a constant piro rate or does it get erratic ?

as far as loosening the belt, i have the aluminum tail assembly. it seems the part that goes on the boom is all the way pushed up to its limit. any suggestions?

well it was for sure that the belt was making the main rotor slow down. but now question is how loose for the belt? i have it now you can easily pinch it with your fingers but its not slipping when i spin them... is it ok?
