One of the empties was less than half full when I started this morning. Beautiful weather, not much happening at the kennel, what's a guy to do?

Ah, the advantages of having the flying field out your back door

Anybody else burn some alky today?

By the looks of the photo, you've got heaps of negative pitch in that setup!

I'm hoping for the Pantera to have its maiden voyage this Sunday followed by 9 hole of golf so nothing burned today except some cash at the pub for a meal and drinks at lunchtime with mates. =)

Yeah I did have a bit too much collective, so I dialed a little less pitch in the swash settings and increased the cyclics. I'm currently at 50% on the pitch and 70% on aileron, and elevator in the swash settings. Electronic cyclic ring is enabled, cyclics are quick enough now to please me, and the head is close to unboggable.

My cyclics just about max out the swash plate, and all of the head settings are maxed save for the extra long ball standoffs. Did I mention I like really quick cyclics .

Panterror (AKA BBC Pantera) is a BLAST to fly! Even makes it worth the extra fuel she uses.

Pet, From your history of posts I am quite sure that you are not a brand fan-boy, so when you make a statement like that I take it for gospel and am further intrigued.

I am seriously thinking about taking the leap to a BBC conversion, but am still a little skiddish. Please help me out.

1) In your opinion - At the end of the day, after all of the tweaking, tuning, modelling, EFFORT, with installing a .91, was it worth it? A .91 stuffed into a .50 is certainly a rare sight.

2) This may be a dumb question, but how is it in flight? I'm thinking it may be similiar to the excitement I felt when I simply switched my Beam's Align XL motor to a Scorpion -8. Insane power relativley speaking.

I'm not a 3D maven (unless 3D means, Dive-Dirt-Destroy) but I think I would enjoy crazy climbouts, high speed and large powerful maneuvers.

PS. I like "Panterror". Great one!!!!

Thanks!
Scott

At the end of the day, and especially at the beginning of the next day, yes IMHO it was well worth the effort!

My Panterror only has a 70 in it, I'm not even going to bother with the OS 91HZ I bought in a Pantera. The 70 is more than enough.

There is enough support here to get the things you will need to do figured out, I will be more than happy to provide any support up to, and including making your spacers etc. Just PM me if you are in need.

Probably won't see me around here too much in the future, I just picked up an Aurora so I'm off on another adventure!

Exactly! I've got a Furion and Beam both with the Scorp -8 motor, so I'm quite familiar with your reference. I love my Knight 3Ds, but the BBC feels light, and agile even at almost a pound heavier, and it accelerates like a rocket sled. I'm not a 3Der either, just an average sport flier.

My mistake on the .91. The .70 sounds like a good step up for me.

Thanks for the replies!

I havent burned a lick of fuel in weeks. I rediscovered how much I love boats and fiberglass restorations. I have a 1983 Bayliner that I'm doing from the hull up and just picked up a 1972 Glastron Gt150 speedboat. I suspect the helis are going to be lonely this Summer!

Got off the plane from Iraq and a quick snooze.
Burned a gallon of fuel. The new temp program on the MPG was awsome (thanks JB for some set points) untill the temp sensor broke appart. My bad in the install. need to get a better mounting point for the sensor.
Summer is comming and I can't wait to fly the new bbc 90.
It's pumped and ready to blow the sky into bits.

Yep
My son just got back a week ago. Not to get off subject, but man, I LOVE that boat!!! Always been my favorite ski boat hull since they first came out. Great small lake boat. Hang a big ole black MERC on it like back in the day and let her rip!!! Too cool.....

All of you that have love ones in the mil. Thanks. I enjoyed spending some time with them and showing them the cool war toys our company just shipped.
Getting back on track....
I have two BBC's and it is well worth the effort (almost plug and play). The ships are solid and more so in the wind. I have flown the ships at high alt (9,000 MSL) without a problem.
I have never flow them at sea level but I'm sure it would be a blast!
The Thought of the BBC was to give a punch of a 50 above sea level.
Some of you are cooking up things I never thought of as a beta tester of the BBC.
