I tried to call Joe at Joker USA today to order the bearing but got a different company. After some digging I found his old numbers and spoke with Joe.
As I understand it Joe is no longer in the business of selling Jokers. Joe has been a tremendous help to me in recent years getting and keeping my birds up and happy. Always there to answer a quick question. He had some pretty disturbing comments on what had transpired NONE of which portrayed Gerd or Minicopter in a postive light.(I wont go into details) If anyone has any additional info on what happened it would be good to know. I have always thought of Minicopter as a professionaly run company producing great machines. I am now a bit concerned of supply issues for parts and as I look to add to my fleet and setup operations on the neibor islands I'll be honest I am a bit concerned and now forced to look at other options.
Your thoughts appreciated.

FXA was suppied by Joe, AFAIK. I got the same info from Joe AFTER I bought two more MiniJokers, which I learned are not being made any longer. Joe was pissed because Gerd came out with the Joker3 and gave distribution to a new guy.

The new distributor is http://www.minicopter-usa.com which, so far, isn't looking promising.

I'm new to the minicopter community since I heard of the Joker 3. I have been closely monitoring this site to hear the good news of "Joker 3 now available in stock" but I have been waiting for months now. I wish I knew WHY it's taking so long. A couple of people that have also been waiting for the Joker 3 have moved on to get the Henseleit Rigid (I don't know if they actually have it now but I know they have changed their decision). I have been waiting so long that at this point if the Henseleit Rigid was available, I would probably get one. The only problem is that I chose the Joker 3 because it's known to handle weight and can be easily converted to a Maxi-Joker 3 for heavy lifting, which is where I would like to go in the future for AP and/or APV.

I have talked to joker-usa (Joe) and he was a nice guy. I also talked to minicopter-usa (Rael) and he is also a very nice guy. Based on my phone conversation with both, I like them both. I spent more time talking to minicopter-usa since I learned they would be taking over (months ago). My point is, I hope people don't be upset in anyway with minicopter-usa since it's a decision made by Gerd, to my understanding. The question is "WHY?", I wish I knew, just out of curiosity. I'm actually wondering why I haven't seen any posts from Gerd for the past several weeks. Is he on vacation? I think she should have come forward and annouce minicopter-usa instead of letting people wonder and speculate. Maybe that is too much to ask but I would have like it that way instead of being like an underground information to keep it hush.

It's a tough business. The volumes and margins are small for an importer for such expensive machines. It's like my business with the world's best cookware and typical of German and Belgian mfrs, very little factory support... Sorry Gerd, but it is true, and I understand to a certain degreee.

Edit: Then you have the weakness of the US$ to compound things...

I have the same question as you. Why? It doesnt add up unless Joe did something unresolvable to Gerd. In a recession you build and strengthen relationships not destroy them. Very odd.
We may never know the whole story. If it was a cut throat down and dirty business move I can respect that and will continue my support (I love my Jokers) its just business. If it was a slimy back door stab in the back well what small businessman would intentionally support that. Hard to move forward when so many questions are out there and a few simple answers would clear it up.

Like I posted over at HF. I think some of it has to do without having an updated website and web order setup at Joker-USA. Plus, catering to the Aerial photography seems important to Gerd.

Wasn't to long ago Mikado gave Readyheli everything. Don't think that has been much of an issue after the adjustment.

It all comes down to business. I just want to be able to order Joker kits and parts when needed. I have talked to Rael and he is a great guy. I also never had any issues with Joe.

Dave, yes, it was a typo it should have been "he" not "she" and I was refering to "Gerd" not "Rael". I have now seen two posts, one here and another at Helifreak announcing things so now all is official. I'm glad.
About Mikado and ReadyHeli. It's my understanding that was a GREAT move. All, or at least 99% of ReadyHeli customers are more than happy with them for many years now. You can get stuff in about 3 days and if over $100 free shipping. The website appears to be always up to date. I'm not saying that Joker-usa wasn't like this or that minicopter-usa does follow this I'm just saying what ReadyHeli did for Mikado. I LOVE good customer service and even better QUICK and ACCURATE shipping. I do NOT like the opposite of those.
