hi,

got a question here about my header tank.

Once the main tank is empty and fuel reach 1/4 of the header tank, my engine seams to take air and stop. I refill the header tank
and do it again, and same thing, once it reach this level (1/4 of header tank), the engine seams to take air and stop.

The tubing with the weight into the header tank seams to be immerge into the fuel when it happen.

It is normal or do I have a bug here?? it seams that I cannot empty completly my header tank before the engine stops.

thanks!

Strange...my Sceadu does the same thing. I have actually had to auto a few times because of this. I am running an OS 37 engine.

i am using a os 32,

I'm still at the first setup (hoover)so it auto at 12'' from the ground, no trouble here... that's why I do low altitude test before taking the air...

try replacing your clunk line may have a hole in it. or switch to the TT39 it runs till the tank is dry.

Maybe you have vibrations that causes the clunk inte the header to bounce around enough for the engine to not be able to run reliably when the level of fuel reaches quarter full.

Usually I don't recommend using the contents of the header tank alone for flying. The header should only be for safety and as when the main tank empties it's time to land.

On the other hand with a 30 size engine even the contents of a regular header tank alone lasts for quite some time of flying.

i run nothing but thunder tiger engines. have since 2000 and they get way longer run time than the os engines. plenty of power and they last a long time. i never burned up a TT engine but have os. just my 2 cents worth

I have changed my tubing inside both tank (main and header). The header tank tubing was broken close to the copper tubing. lots of dirt in the main tank too. all removed, cleaned and new tubing. Will test that tomorrow
thanks!

mustang1349 was right many thanks!, now with new tubing in both tank, I can run my os until the header tank is dry!!, just make the test 30 minutes ago.

With an os 32, what is the best position for the needle valve? (range turns), I read in the instruction 1-1/2 turns from a closed position.

Hmm, I guess I need to change out the tubing also. As for the needle valve adjustments/turns, I start out with what the manual recommend and then do the finger touch and adjust from there.

Aim High!
