I thought the idea of 2.4g fasst system was to stop the pilot selecting the wrong model before flight, but that doesnt seem to be the case. I can select model one trex 700 and it connects to all my models and working. Can anyone help me on this, have I done something wrong .

Doesn't the receiver connect via a unique number ?

Nukey,

The idea of 2.4 is that nobody can shoot you down using the same channel.

If what you like is model match, then you need to go with a spektrum system.

DougV said it before me. But the 10C is, as far as I am concerned, a great radio.

Well Nukey, the idea is to do a "Pre flight check" and first part of that is:
Turn on Tx and select Model, then turn on that models rx...easy, aint it?

I fuly understand the importance of pre-check flights but we are all human which causes us to make mistakes or make wrong choices. I have been flying for around 5 years now and properly selected the wrong model 2-3 times and considering the amount of times I have flown, this is a very small margin. We all fully appreciate this is a very serious hobby and can be very dangerous if not dealt with correctly and to add a feature that provides more safety can only be a postive move, surely.

If anyone said to me they never make mistakes, they would be a liar to themselves and everyone else. If we never made mistakes there would, lets say, never be traffic accidents, the list can go on and on

yes I understand people can make mistakes, but one mistake people should not make is model select....
I always turn my tx on and select the model first, always have and always will, call me a liar if you want, but its one mistake I will never make...

it costs way to much to make that stupid mistake lol, so I never will, as i HATE wasting money (never crashed a car in 30 years of driving either)

lets face it, the 10c has a large backlit lcd screen where the model selected is clearly on display.......

if you can not get your head round that simple task, then you'd better get a spektrum lol

Nukey this subject was hotly debated in the other thread. We all need to remember that we have gotten along with out model match for many many many years. its a nice thing but it just makes us as pilots less responsible for out own actions IMHO. whats next autopilots that take over when you get so close to the ground so our helis wont crash? lolol Knowing Futaba their equipment is quite capable of doing model match but my assumption is that spectrum has it tied up in a patient or something of that nature or they would have been already done it. It wouldn't surprise if a simple update would enable it to work now. The G3 rx's could talk to the tx so i have no doubt that Futaba's equipment can do model match. just something to think about.
