I pulled my front gear out and started taking it apart. The gear on the shaft is not coming off, any ideas of how that thing comes off? I have bent the frame that holds the bearing, but hope I can straighten it. The other assembly I got as the replacement, the gear just slips onto the shaft, I guess there is something that goes on it to bond the gear to the shaft? What do you use?
I guess by now you know I have never changed this gear out before.
Thanks for any advise, as I would like to get it back together and go fly.

Which 450 do you have? Some don't come off as they have the plastic gear molded on from factory. The others are Loctited on so you have to heat the gear up and press it out. To bond the gear onto the shaft after you put it through the bearing, use red Loctite 262. Let it dry completely before using.

sorry for the missing info, it is an SE 1version with the light blue plastic gear alumonum belt gear. The frame the bearing sits in is bent some and I can't find just that part in the replacement list. Is it straightenable? its not bad, but ? Thats the only part I need out of everything How would you heat it?

Thanks

Richard

The ones that are on the Trex 450SE V1 version are different to all the rest. Those are pressed on and if you take the gear off it might not be that secure when you press it back on. I would just see if you can find a replacement gear set from somewhere that might have some old stock. They do not make that part anymore and you need it because the auto rotation gear is different on the V1 then the newer ones, like on the SE V2 and it won't work together. You either need to find the old tail drive gear assembly or buy a new one HS-1216-84 and also buy a new main gear and auto rotation gear assembly HS-1218-84 as well.

Take Care,
Cheers, Patrick
