with my mini titan with the standard esc and motor the heli runs fine. i have a 2200mah 3s1p battery which came 2nd hand with the heli. when the battrey is done(ie the heli is losing power) all that goes back into the battrey is about 1450mah max. i have done this 3 times and every time the same amount goes back into the battery. is this correct or does the battery sound done?

If the heli is losing it's power and you put back 1450mah, the battery is losing it's life.

I wouldn't use it for your 3D training. Use it for hovering and testing only.

Sounds like the battery, any idea how old it is or how many times it was used?
It could also be that your only using that much power each flight. How long are your flight times?
Different ESC settings can make the motor cut power at different points.I've found running in standard protection mode,if I fly too long and get that cut out,I'm putting back 2100-2200mAh in a 2200 battery.I keep forgetting to start my timer. This is a big no no bye the way, your not supposed to fully drain these batteries,70-80%is what most recommend.

Gravity,the unknowen variable.

My old 2200mah do exactly the same as you describe where my brand new 2200mah batts. perform and charge properly.

I would guess the battery is just old and about gone.
