For sport flying 100w/lb so 1000w setup. For 3d 150w/lb or 1500w setup minimum.

If you use 6s pack (20v rough), that is 50amps for sport and 75amps for 3d. Using 3300mah cells, 3.3ah x 60min/h = about 4min at full throttle or 8min mix. 5000mah will give 6/12min sport flying.

For 3d, you may have to go 8-10s.

Al,

That is a good setup for sport. If you look ahead to do 3d with the same setup, you might want to get a bit slower kv motor and go with 8-10s and prop it light. Since the ESC can handle 12s, proping it for 9s will give you more flexibility.

That is a tall order to fill. That means you will have to go with 250kv motor but you will most likely have to use 3000mah max of 25c or less packs (for weight).

This motor will do 3d with revolver sized airplane.

This will do well with 12s setup for sport or 3d

I've done that

Isn't the esc on the tower combo too low for that motor?

12s5000 is toooo heavy for that airframe, unless you are setting it up as a pylon racer. Your stall speed goes up with every 1/4lb.

Between, 25c 6s5000 ProLite and 65c 6s5000, there is 1/4lb weight difference.

With above airframe, 6s5000 works well for sport flying although a bit heavy. For learning to manage stall, it might be good.

Yes. Sport aerobatic airplane for John, Al and monster pylon machine for Ahmed with 12s5000 with the same motor.

hmm...we all seem to be leaning towards airplanes...discussions of smaller lipos and (ooh, slow down that heavy stick hand sailor) slower flight...

they say when a group of women work together day in and day out they start to cycle together (really...just a raw deal for the plumber)

are we all "plane" cycling together??

seems we are getting in touch with our feminine side...

whats next...we all go to the "Twilight" movie release?

I don't know. But, Justin is really really digging his airplanes right now.

I want to see high alpha knife-edge at 2feet high with his 35%.
