Go in between and get the 60.
I would say the same. But, they dropped the 60"

I guess you want to go all out with a F1 class.

Bigger with same wing loading gives better stability.

The battery weight is THE key. Get 15-25c with the lightest weight spec. Every oz count in airplanes!!

-----------------------------------------

If you want to go all out, then you might consider entry level gas instead.
Don't go for the 30cc.

Real entry level is 50-60cc with 88" wing span and about 16-18lb. This is when you start to feel the floaty feeling.

In this class, you have tons of choices as it is one of the most popular entry class.

Extreme
Pilot-RC

They both make good airplanes and are reputable.

These guys carry good selection of brands.

Here is a new 50cc Extra 300 for $300

http://www.flyinggiants.com/swapsho...uct=28793&cat=2

BTW, what is your plan for "dead stick" practice?

I just realized that you will not be doing all out 3d with your first Ferrari. So, I guess even the 30cc will be ok.

As for the power plant choice for 80"+ sizes are Gas over Electric or Nitro by 100:1 margin until lighter and longer lasting batteries are introduced. Three biggest performance killers are weight, weight, and weight.

Major bummer (for me).
There is bad news and there is good news. The bad news is SAB announced a delay in production, and therefore can't meet the Dec 19th deadline as expected. The first shipment will be delayed until end of Jan 2012. The good news is the delivery kits will be at least double by Jan 2012, enough to cover for all current preorders and another around of new preorders. Thank you for your patience.
I will probably still be working on the whiplash anyway, with all the holiday stuff that needs attending to slowing me down.

Translated "The delay is due to our existing transmission was not sufficient to handle the power."

Hey Ed, I got the stock in for the new rotor housing. Let's come to agreement on the main shaft size by the weekend.
