Sorry I couldn't make the last meeting. Work schedules combined with transportation with the wife prevented me from making it.

I'm ordering the heli this afternoon. I'm having such a hard time making my final decision between the Trex700N FBL and the Trex700E FBL. Lol, it's such a hard decision. I'm leaning towards nitro simply because I could fly more in one day. The electric is nice and quiet and I could probably get away with flying it some during the week in a soccer field near my house because it's less likely to draw attention.

Any final suggestions, coersions, or plain old "self-justifying" arguments for me??? LOL

Oh yeah, and does anyone there fly a 550E? Just looking at all of my options.

One of my considerations is that if I go nitro, I will pretty much HAVE to go to the club anytime I fly. Don't get me wrong, I'm looking forward to flying with you guys, but it's a 30-40 minute drive, one way, which will definately limit how much I get to fly and increase the cost (1 hour+ drive in a big truck for every day of flying) :/

David, If you buy through GrandRC, you get 10% off with the code as a new buyer, even if you've bought for years.

I do not know about the soccor fields up by you. But any time I have flown my 450 at a public field you always get someone approaching your flight line from the flying area. Or even worse taking their dog off the leash. I would not want to think of the possible injury a 450 with cf blades could do. Never mind a larger heli be it nitro or elect.
I feel for your love to fly. But sometimes the general public does not understand the respect that needs to be given to rc aircraft. Best to bring a friend as a spotter

Yeah, thats a good perspective on the public fields. The only thing about this one is it's on the edge of a small mountain so theres only one way on. And although I'd go with a spotter when it's abandoned (mostly is), I agree, a .90 anything is simply too big to fly outside of a club. I'll probably go with the nitro to fly with you guys and later get myself a trex 250 for flying around the yard

BTW, the only thing I could find on cost for club membership is in the renewal packet. Is it a safe assumption that joining the club costs the same as renewing a membership?

unless it has changed, $150.00 one time fee and then it's yearly renewal - $75.00
