SANDUSKY, Ohio -- An Ohio man arrested for mowing unkempt grass at a public park said he just wanted to make his city look nice.

John Hamilton said he took control of the situation because the grass in Sandusky's Central Park was about a foot high. According to a police report, a witness said Hamilton was blowing grass onto the sidewalk and shredding trash in the park that had not been picked up.

Police said they arrested 48-year-old Hamilton after he refused to stop mowing and charged him with obstructing official business and disorderly conduct.

City Manager Matt Kline called the arrest unfortunate and said he understands Hamilton's frustration. Kline said budget cuts have left Sandusky understaffed for seasonal maintenance work.

He was arrested because he refused to stop, not because he was mowing the park grass. Still, it's an unfortunate incident of the police over reacting.

I think about the hereafter. I go somewhere to get something, then wonder what I'm here after ?

I would like to know why a "witness" would even report someone doing something for his community for. Some cops do over react but I would guess if a complaint was filed by someone they do have to act on it even though it is for the good of said neighborhood.

I had a neighbor call the cops on me because I was flying my heli and taking pictures, while on my property, middle of my 5 acres, no overflight.
The police showed up and had to ask what I was doing. I explained and they said no problem. The guy who reported me is a nut case well known to the department, but they have to check it out. We had a good laugh and I showed them the helicopter.

I think about the hereafter. I go somewhere to get something, then wonder what I'm here after ?

noticed that when going to DirectTV the commercials are much louder than the actual shows. Kinda frustrating so I'd like to know how well one of these regulators would work.
Sounds like condo-nazis to me. They disguise themselves as little old ladies walking dogs.

Before I retired after I had bought this place we had a new guy buy up the ranchette down the road. He would complain to people here about the dust and the smells of the dairys hmm ag zone all farms and stuff around here hmm ok. He went as far as to call the cops on me when I would come in around 2 or 3am because my lights on my rig would bother im and he felt tht trucks shouldnt be allowed on the street hmmm ag zone all farms hmm ok. So I asked all my neighbors if they could tolerate a bit of jake braks for a few nites I want to try to get ri of this guy. Every nite for over a month I would round the coner hot and heavy and have the jakes in and start upshifting going down the road with them in just to annoy him the other neighbors started plowing etc super early and other things this guy sold out after 3 more months of putting up with worthless farmers and truck drivers lol. To bad you couldnt do the same to your neighbor that should be minding her own business.

Thanks Mutt,
My son in law keeps scheming to irritate the guy but I say just let it go and next time he needs help or co-operation I will turn the other cheek, I mean back on him. He once got his pickup stuck and I used my tractor to pull him out, never again.

LOL yea I know I wouldnt help the fool out again. It is so amazing that people can be such jerks. People like him are the first to complain about how no one in a neighborhood gets along yet be the first one to start crap. I do know I like the fact all my neighbors now are all good people. Pretty bad you invite a new neighbor over to a neighborhood bbq and get told to f off blah blah blah. Typical responce from BAT's (bay area transplants).
