My problem: 105-66 (clutch pinion gear) is assembled in to the bearing block (105-60) at the factory. However i found play in the the pinion to bearing (0183) joint. It seems the pinion has been spinning and worn so it is no longer a tight fit in the bearing. This allows the clutch to "wobble" i believe this has caused premature main gear wear.
Also the urethane dampers are worn allowing the clutch pins that locate in the fan hub to move."
I have closely examined the parts and it seems the pinion (105-66) isnt too bad . It should be 10mm O.D. but its 9.8-9.9. The majority of the slop is in the bearing that sits on this shaft. I removed it but i believe it is factory assembled using RC-680 loctite. I can't get that over here. So any ideas?
My other question is that i might as well replace the other 2 clutch bearings. What is the best way to remove the lower clutch bell bearing (located in the bell). And How to remove the top clutch bearing (in the twin bearing block above pinion gear)
Any UK suppliers of good quality bearings?
If it ain't broke then break it.
