Settings for your set up, while using the 430L, and the 35x alighn esc

Low stick (brake off)
Mid timing(mid stick)
High voltage cut off(low stick), or your choice.
Soft start (mid stck)
Quik Speed setting(high stix)

13 tooth
+10-0--10 pitch
100,100, 100, 100.or 90 90 90 90 90

Proper collective management is key as well, as there will be many things factored and taylord in while flying this set up as well. But this is a great set up for most. So I dont see why your would be any different, unless your batterys are toast.

I'm suprised no one has asked about your batteries (unless I missed it). They are the number one cause of power loss. Strap in one of your buddy's packs and see how it does. Although the 430l is lower end, it has plenty of power and should have no problems maintaining headspeed except for power hungry moves like tic tocs. I really doubt there is anything wrong with your motor.

Ok, I do see that you tried it on a new outrage. Still worth checking the battery though. Might have a bad cell.

Hey guys, I just came back from another day of flying and it seems something just died out. I was flying on my old battery and all of a sudden the power just starts to slow down. I landed it quickly and my first impression was that my old battery was just too old to fly anymore, but when I tried my other packs, same thing happens. It's not right away, because the headspeed seems healthy but give it a couple seconds and the tail starts to shake up and down and my heli starts to drop. I doubt it's my battery (tried all my packs and same results) and not my ESC (could be but it is much more new than the motor), any ideas anyone?

I had 3 430L motors and they were all junk, get the 430XL.The 430L motor is the cheapest motor align has for the 450,it comes with the Trex 450XL/XL ccpm, bottom of the pit.

I can't help but disagree with FlyingHigh450. I'm running the L motor in my sev2, and have had no problems. I can tic toc and piroflip without bogging it on the 13T pinion. I'm doing this stuff with 335 woodies and a HS of 2600rpm. If I can do that, you should have NO problems flipping it on it's back.

Now that being said, when I did first get my heli when I had the align 35A esc I found when the voltage protection option was turned to high the motor would randomly cut out and back in again. Doesn't sound like the gradual slowdown you're talking about but it's possible the esc is pulsing on you or something?

Other than that, it's still possible to have a bad cell even in a brand spankey new battery.

If the ESC is fine, and the batteries are fine, then that only leaves one thing - motor.

That is unless you have programming probs in the radio, but it doesn't sound like it.

Again, the refusal of initiating the programming options for this guys esc is still a mystery.

These motors need to be tuned.
