Enough time has past for me to make one final post so I'll post it and change this back accordingly.

I was asking what the vents in these paddles were for.
I worded the question wrong and then was not permitted by RR to post again to explain what I meant.

We were talking about these paddles...

I thought that paddles like this usually had a sticker or some type of covering over them. When I flew shuttles way back, the paddles would have stickers that covered the paddles. It was one of the things that were kind of a pain, because eventually the stickers would start to peel away. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I have never seen a heli fly with paddles like this, and it doesn't look like it would give much flybar input with the paddles vented.

You need to put the stickers on. There should be some in the kit.

stickers in the kit give the paddles the surface area to grab the air. the reason there are holes in them are to make the paddles lighter. ive had the stickers blow off in flight, and you can still fly, just not as well.

Stickers need to be installed as per the instructions they go on the top and bottom covering the holes. the instructions can be downloaded or just remove the backing and place over the holes

i got a pm from mckrackin. he is at his post limit for the day. he purchaced a esp kit, and these are the paddles it came with. the instructions only call for threading on carbon paddles. he can read our responses, just cannot reply today, as he's at his limit.

I apologize for blanking the OP out like that but I worded the question wrong and the answers weren't what I was looking for.
Well, not exactally. The good answers to the wrong question added up to the answer to the question I meant to ask.

With RR's elitest attitude on limiting posts for new members made it impossible for me to re-word the question at the end of the post so I opted for erasing the question.

Another thing RR's posting limitations have done is turn me off to this forum.
A shame really.I see a bunch of really intelligent people here that I would love to interact with but,NO,I am not allowed at the big table with the adults so I'll probably just take my helis and leave.

I know the stickers go on the paddles(even though my directions do not say so).

I was just wondering if they were meant to be used without the stickers to dull the responses for a while and then use the stickers to tighten it up some later.

I guess not.Just for weight.A cheapo way to make a paddle.

I have built and flown dozens of helis.
I am a 3D flyer.
I know what I'm doing but my last two came with CF paddles and those vented paddles and I just wondered what the vents were for.
I never used them and won't.Just curious.

Thanks to all of you who replied.I appreciate all the help you were trying to give.

You could EDIT your post if you need to reword it. It is on the lower right of your post box. The EDIT button is only visible to you. After you edit it, you save it with a button at the bottom of the message window.
