Hi guys,

i use a Multigov Pro governor in my T-rex 700N and it seems it's overspeeding all the time.
From the moment as you take the load off the main rotor it takes a few seconds untill it catches up again with the set RPM.
Also if you come back in to a hover after doing some figures it does the same.
I allready tried to change it from 3D mode to STD mode but it looks like it even got worse.
A friend at the club experienced the same thing on his T-rex 600N.
Is this something common to the Multigov Pro?
I never experienced some problem like that with any of my TJ governors.
Maybe i'll end up trying to connect one of my TJ unit's and see how that behaves.

Regards Gio.

If the engine is lean at your low throttle setpoint
(governor setting), it may want to stay on the pipe.
When this happened to me, making the low end richer
took care of it.

Is your idle up curve 100-80-100? If not, put it that way. Use 3D mode. You might want to put a smaller number in response speed (faster reaction) to get the headspeed under control. As last resort you can also lower the minimum threshold so that the governor is allowed to reduce throttle more in case of overspeeding (default value is 30% above idle which might not be low enough for you).

Ok thanks allready for the reply's, i'll try those things and see if it gets any better.
The first thing i also thougt about was a too lean low throttle piont but after reading Tony's reply's i believe his last solution could work also.
I'll keep you updated.

Best regards,
Gio.

I would recommend you first make sure the heli runs good without the governor at all. Also make sure the motor is not running too rich -- lean it out to give good response.

After that, do the following:

1) Reset the entire unit back to factory defaults
2) Reconfigure your speeds, gear ratio, and program endpoints
3) Test fly again
4) If you still have any issues, try adjusting the "BaseGain" setting to see if that helps. Depending on your situation, you could increase or decrease it a little. Try both by moving it in 10-20 point increments.

Also make sure your throttle curve in idle up is what we recommend (100-80-100).

Lastly, you must make sure that the magnet passes directly under the sensor and that it is between 1-2 mm distance. What you are describing is not normal so maybe the governor isn't reading the sensor for some reason.

Bob,

When installing the MG Pro, the manual is unclear about the order of the connections. If I am looking at the unit with the writing up and the connectors at the bottom, is the first slot on the left the Thr channel?

If you look carefully between the bottom of the LCD connector and the top pins, you will see the labels in small print inside the board.

If you run the 3d mode the 3D-Agres setting will need to be reduced to make it work like a RevMax. Mine is in the 17-18 range.
