Came across this last night in a case of insomnia.

http://insideheli.com/

Like listening to 2-3 guys at the field with more knowledge than yourself...you can learn a bit!

Thus far I've digested the pitch & Auto-rotation & Flybarless podcast...currently listening to the FAI/F3C chat.

The podcast look to be ~ 45minutes long each...just turn off the audio on the sim and do some multi-tasking!

i think the pantera could make a pretty good fai bird
i will started the fai routine on the sim i think fai is the most difficult discipline and the most rewarding to

just wondering if is there a fai feild (with the flags) in the g4 swap page

Thing that got me on FAI was a mere 2 to 2-1/2 degrees cyclic!

I've been hovering in winds (10- 15) as common practice with 10 degrees cyclic...though I couldn't hold it as they do..I felt that a 4' diameter was pretty good...especially with 88 and 3D blades/setup.

Yesterday we had 12-17 all afternoon, pulled the cyclic down to ~5 degrees...won't say piece-o-cake...but 2' diameter for 3 minutes was not that hard...and kinda fun.

Could see that if you soften the dampers and load on some heavier paddles...FAI should be well within the grasp of a Pantera & a Pilot with a little time under his belt!!!

Next hop I'll go closer to 2-3 and see how easy it is.

Do recall this from yesterday...a linear pitch curve of -7 to +13 for hover needs to be tweaked! Gusts will upset the vertical in an instant.

Nice to see your flying FAI with the Pantera.
I find a nice mix with adding expo to your sticks. Nice and soft on the centers. She is a solid ship if you dial her from wild to mild.
You also may want to adjust the SS arms. The ball sould be way out to calm things down.
High winds and FAI flying with expo and hardware adjustments are just a walk in the park.
It's nice to read that you and others are not stick bangers and "real" pilots.

My name is Billm. Cough, and I'm a Heli Holic

the stock paddle combine with fly bar weight could be a good combination a thinner paddle would have less tendency to pitch up
. in fff softer damper will help to

i have a set of century 4 mm paddle and weight i will give it a try
raptor 60 paddle (stock one) might be good to thin paddle crisper response thick paddle more stability and pitch up tendency
