Our flying field is deciding on putting in a heli pad. But of course there is Resistance and the comment is we should not cater to one group. Just wonted to see how many fields out there have heli pads.

Very nice indeed.

Our club has to share the runway with planes. Not enough area for a separate heli pad..

Quick...here comes my wife....hide that new Heli !!!!

yet, i bet they have a runway

I bet if you had pads and no runway that same statement wouldnt hold any water at all. sometimes i hate FOGs.

we have two separate flying areas each with their own pits and shade structures set 90° off one of other (i.e. runway is North/South--face East to fly. Heli pad(S) are spaced about 50' between and are to the north--face north to fly.)

if it ain't broke, break it.

I wish we had a heli pad at our field. It's just a patch of grass.

It's a complex, costly, glow powered anti-gravity machine!

Club put in two heli pads and a metal covering for the helipilot's at my field. This field has enough land to ensure there was a very large seperation from the runway, so planks and heli members can fly their respective models at the same time without any issues.

Benefit is that Club membership has increased because of it. Some on the plank members are getting interested, so who knows where it will go?

Same as above here. My club used to be primarily an airplane mostly club with just a couple of helis, but lately Heli pilots have increased and especially the last year since I joined with a friend of mine it seems that heli pilots are spawning everywhere.
We fly at different parts of the club, kind of facing opposite each other, with the heli area getting a face lift and expansion I should say from last year.

Still more airplane pilots but I must say the relationship in our club is great. No problems ever really and everyone keeps a happy attitude.
I am lucky I must say. Not everyone is interested in the "other" kind of flying but in general at least half the members of our field (about 80 total) are flying or at least show some interest in both.

My self I took up a bit of airplane flying last year since the runway was there and when I fly a plane I feel so relaxed.....
Easy by comparison.

So far so good on my side with much improvement to be had this summer,

Its not a nuke, its a coal fired power plant. As scary as it might look, its nothing compared with the place that used to make Octane Booster that was about a mile from the field and blew half the neighborhood to smitherines a year or so ago. (Google T2 Plant Explosion video)

Wow, what a great looking field.

My club has a heli-pad for hover practice. Nobody ever uses it. Mostly planks at my club but the heli population seems to be growing.

There`s only one thing wrong with our club. This TWAT.

We only fly Sundays so that`s when he cuts it. Even in the winter he`ll dream up some excuse to piss me off.

Yeh l know it`s funny if you don`t fly there. At the end of the day we pay to use the field. He got to me so much that l didn`t even join the club last year. l have the use of a absolutly great private field but one of the reasons l`m in the hobby is the crack with the boys. l might just have to put up with the idiot now and then.
