I have a standard 12v 7.0amp field box battery that died. Went to the local HS and they only had the smaller 12v 4.5a batteries in stock. My box is big enough so I bought 2 and wired them in parallel keeping the voltage at 12v but upping the amps to 9.

My power panel is an Accu-glo MK-II with a 7.5a fuse. Also have a Mark X electric fuel pump rated at 7.5a.

All seems fine in testing but do I run the risk of fire with that fuel pump? I was tempted to put a 9amp fuse in the power panel but thought that was a bad idea. Anyone running a similar setup? Should I go back to a 7amp battery?

You're fine, just leave the 7.5amp fuse in.

Thanks!

Someone at the field told me these electric pumps are prone to fire so it made me nervous.
