New club starter

I have a Drayton starter that I always take with me to the club even though I fly gassers and when anyone suffers a hyper lock with there nitro machine they come and ask to borrow my starter instead of pulling the plug.

I had at home a gas engine end of a strimmer so I attached a starter wand to the clutch end and hid it in the foot well of my car just laying in wait for the next time someone asked to borrow my Drayton, it didn’t take long before a club member asked to use it and at that point I took the super starter out of the car pulled the cord and walked up to his Heli with this contraption running in my hands and said, I've bought the club a new starter seen as your always using mine, you should have seen the look on there faces some where in disbelief and some actually thought I was going to use it, It certainly gave us all a good laugh and had a few going at the same time.

That's just to funny. Man that gives me some wild ideas.

One mile of road will take you one mile. One mile of runway will take you anywhere in the world.

The daftest thing is it would probably work; the engine has a clutch attached and a remote throttle plus the starter wand has a one-way bearing so in theory it would work but it might snap a few con rods along the way

That should end the debate about what type of battery to use for your starter.

Just wondering, what is a strimmer used for?

It kinda looks like the motor off of a weed eater.
