i just came upon a good deal recently on a Dx7 so i bought it to get into the 2.4 market. i didn't think about this ahead of time, but it turns out that this radio is the airplane version. i do fly planes, but i'd rather have the heli version switch layout and smooth throttle.
no big deal, i will take the throttle ratchet out, but what bothers me is that the three position switch (flight mode switch) is on the face of the transmitter (for flaps) rather than being in the traditional upper left side where the flight mode switch would be.
is it possible to move the three position switch from the face and put it on the upper left (where the gear switch currently is). i want to swap them out.
i have replaced a switch on an OLD fm futaba radio and re-soldered it myself, but with a computer radio, i dont want to screw anything up. i dont even know if the wires will be long enough to move the switch.
does anybody have any tips on this? is it a bad idea?
