Does anyone have any tips on the best way to fill the gas tank with header? I have tried filling at the header nipple. I can fill the header the manual pump then gets really hard. The tube even popped off and gave me a shot nitro to the eye.

You have the plumbing wrong then.

Pump it into the header in the center nipple, it should feed right out the vent and into the main tank.

If you're using an exhaust plug take it off.

either that or the clunk line in the main tank is bad (collapsed). I suggest changing all the lines and make sure they are hooked up properly.

On many headers, the (3rd) fill nipple is not pierced through. If its not, use a hot piece of wire to push through instead of drilling. This prevents plastic shavings from getting in the header.

See the header tank main nipple. This fuel tubing coller keeps the fuel tubing from slipping off.
Cut a small section of tubing and slide it over the fuel line before attaching to the fuel tank nipples. With the exception of the line you will remove to re-fuel.

If it doesnt move and its meant too... use WD 40. If it moves and its not meant too...use duct tape!

DSW,
That is a very clean/organized setup on your heli! Thanks for posting the pic. Like the air filter and sneeze guard on the gyro Whats the pin for? I assume it your switch but I have never used one like that.

I guess this is it. Looking to replace a standard switch, don't think it would work in my case.

pretty sure the pin is a switch for an Arazonaheli regulator?

The main tank I just purchased turned out to have a clogged nipple. Changed this out and all is fine.

It is the pin switch that comes with the Arizona Regulator set-up.

The gyro cover is part of a seven day pill box. This is the one on my Rapter 50SE.

Nice, may give that a try.

BTW I fuel my R30 by filling through the header tank fuel line. I pop the line off the fuel filter, on the tank side. Air in the tank goes out the muffler and the fuel can flood the carb. Very simple. On the 50 I have a filter similar to the one in DSW's pic. I just need to pickup a fuel line clamp. No fun pinching while fueling Both work well.

Exhaust plugs

I had a friend that had one of those exhaust deflectors that had the plug attached and he constantly brought his model out and for got to remove that plug. His line would pop out also while fueling and he would fill the carb and crank case the first flight every week.

LOL... thanks for the heads up. I got one of those for my 50 over the winter and I can see myself doing that. I think I'll cut the plug off the first time if not sooner. I don't have the plug on my other heli but all I do is rotate the deflector up so oil doesnt drip while transporting.
