I couldn't wait any longer for a solution to the warped plastic front belt pulley. It took me a month to build this one with my equipment so please don't ask me to make another! It has a full 12mm of toothed belt surface so I don't need the guides. My 550 is sooooo quiet now!

Sweet....well if you can make that from scratch in 1 month, then Outrage should be able to get one going ASAP!

I just flew four 6s 5300 ma batteries with it and I love it! I am not worried about the belt catching on the pulley anymore! Wonderfully designed heli. Thanks Outrage!

Provided that you are able to machine your own gear. How did you make that? I have a friend who s a machinist, do you have a file or something that I might be able to give him to get one of those made?

I believe a rotory table and indexer was used for this project.

Sorry Eury but no computers were involved in the making of this part. I did have a piece of scratch paper for number crunching. All my equipment is manually operated. Thats why it took so long!

ive been debating one of those for years, and after seeing that part, it makes me want one even more. its all those little things that nobody produces that makes it seem worthwhile.

I got my lathe and milling machine at harbor freight. The lathe will only take a 12" long by 5" or so part but it is great for small parts. It was about $400 back when I got it. If you can imagine it, you can make it!

Beautiful work. I made a gear for my home-built hit and miss engine and it took at least a month. (can be seen in my gallery) What many don't understand is that 3 weeks may be spent just making special fixtures or holders for a part to make a part to hold the final part.
If you want to start making them I'll send you my aluminum casting equipment. (Just kidding) Yep, I tried aluminum sand castings also. That part would work well for castings followed by a little light machining cleanup..

I think about the hereafter. I go somewhere to get something, then wonder what I'm here after ?

I happen to have one, thanks to BFB. It is an amazing piece, the quality is excellent, I'm in awe of what he accomplished using his tools. I hope to get it on the Outrage and flying by the end of this week.
