Hello all! I wanted to let you know about my recent (BAD)experience with ReadyHeli. I bought a new KongPower Lipo battery from my LHS for my Trex500 build and after completed I went to give it a flight but the Speed Controller and motor fried along with the battery. My hobby shop replaced the ESC and motor at no charge and told me the battery shorted out the system. My LHS gets their KongPower lipos from ReadyHeli and asked me to contact them or KongPower directly to get it resolved. I spoke with Spencer at KongPower whom asked me to get a hold of the people the Lipo originally came from, which is ReadyHeli. I sent my concern to a Suzi over there who in the end asked me to send in my battery and if it was dead she would replace it for me. Well it was dead and she told me that it was not a manufacturers defect so she would not replace it. She did soooo kindly offer me a new one at 50% off. I declined, why would I want to but another one after my unused brand new one that I just paid $180.00 for went bad??? My point is here that Suzi with ReadyHeli asked me to send in my battery to have it replaced and in the end I got shafted and am now out $180.00. I fully explained my situation to Suzi w/ RH before sending my battery to them and to my understanding the battery was going to be replaced or repaired and it was not!! What they did was back me into a corner and had me ship them my battery at my expense so in the end they could try to sell me another battery minus the local hobby shop (middleman). People should honor their word if they want to earn customers. I have ordered from ReadyHeli in the past but will certainly reconsider doing any business with them in the future until this gets resolved!!!

Any advice on how to get this issue resolved is appreciated.

For something that appears to be of no fault of the battery, for ReadyHeli to offer you 50% off of a new battery sounds like a pretty good deal!

Warranty:
The warranty does not cover misuse, unpacked battery, abuse, or other inappropriate use of the battery.
Product warranty is limited to original defective.

So let me get this straight.

You bought a battery from your LHS, and it was bad.

And they told you to contact ReadyHeli?

As I see it, you weren't ReadyHeli's customer. And they offered you a 50 percent deal.

Man, if something goes bad, and I bought it at LHS, I'd make damn sure the people that got my money for the battery took care of me.

Sending you to ReadyHeli was a cop out. I know you're bummed, and I would be too, but you're placing the blame on the wrong people here.

ReadyHeli had no contractual obligation to do anything for you. If anyone is to blame here, it's your LHS.

Sorry to hear about your bum deal. Buy Outrage

How is 50% off on a new battery a good deal when the battery is what caused my problems to begin with?

What did they say was the cause of the battery failure if not manf defect?

BTW - I've had horrible customer service from Kong and will NEVER buy another one.

If you don't know where you are going any road will take you there.

ReadyHeli replaced a Kog Power lipo for me just the other day, one cell was just a little out of balance, they saw a picture of the lipo, attached to their kong power meter. And they sent me a replacement within three days. Plus I got to keep my other one.

ReadyHeli.com will do you right, if they see it was their lipo was faulty.

I've worked with Suzi on a replacement for something... and she was very helpful! Went above and beyond!.

Are you sure your hobby shop was right? Usually the batt is not a problem with the ESC shorting out... it is usually the ESC itself... especially if it is an Align ESC.

Your not the first person to have to replace your ESC and Motor in a T500 straight up.

My LHS may have given me a cop out response but they did replace the motor and ESC. For some reason they said I needed to contact ReadyHeli directly. Hmmmmm.. maybe they can't get anywhere with them either and thought I could. Don't know really but I do know that I was told to send it in by their CS team, which I did do.

Your LHS should have taken care of the problem. For them to tell that the battery was the problem is pretty frickin lame.

Who is the LHS ?

I am sure ReadyHeli provides excellent service to most everyone most of the time. We obviously had a major miscommunication that has gone unresolved.

Did the old lady fall and break or hip or did she break her hip and fall?

I can understand how an ESC could fry and kill your battery, but please explain how a battery can fry your Motor & ESC. I really want to know.

Like I said, a 50% replacement sounds like a good deal.

how would the battery short the system? if the battery was shorted from the manufacturer wouldnt it EXPLODE? did you short a wire in the system? ie not enough shrink wrap on battery connection or motor/esc wires. Dink move creating a new profile to trash a great retailer that offered you a great deal. rant over.

My whole point at being upset here is that I was told to send in the battery and if it was bad it would be replaced. Thats all nothing more. It did not get replaced and they sent my bad battery back to me after I told them I did not want another at 50% off.

So what's wrong with the pack now? Is a cell bad? Does it not hold voltage? What volts are showing on it? If there's a short in the pack, then it's gonna be puffy, melty, droopy, or something.

A pack that doesn't have enough voltage isn't going to fly an ESC or Motor... Straight up... I'm with the others, I don't know how a bad battery can do anything but not provide you with enough juice. If a lipo has shorted, you know about it. Quickly. With much pomp and circumstance.

Did you check your battery with a voltmeter, and verify why it's "bad" or is it "bad" because another human told you it was bad, because we all know Align ESC's never fry...

I think it is just a bad cell. Can that be repaired or made into a 5s pack?
