My camera records in MOV format and 'VirtDub' doesn't work on MOV format. I just need a easy to use editor to trim front and end of vidio and maybe some cuts in the middle. Vdub worked great on some other formats. I tried converter programs but they take forever and sometimes never finish (crash ??). Unfortunately my cheap Panasonic doesn't allow other recording formats.
I'm getting great vibration free vids so now the next step is some editing. It's only a hobby so cheap annd simple is in.

gyrofreak,

Read this review and see if it applies to what you want. You can download version 2.0 from videospin.com and all codecs are useable for 15 days.

It will import some forms of mov files if you follow the notes in the review. I have had problems with some cameras having mov files that are non-standard, so you will have to download and try for your camera :0)

Here is the review article:

Thanks for the review. I found a cheap (free) that seems to do the job of trimming front and end and saves it in a more common format. I found my camera saves it in .MOD which nobody seems to recognize but when I changed the extension to .MOV this cheap program does the job.
I'll edit this post with the name shortly. Thanks to all who read or posted to my question.

It's called 'Video Thang' ; and yes thats how you spell it when you do a google search.

Adobe Premiere Elements 7. I think it's around $100.00 and have read great reviews.

I use Corel Video Studio 11.5.
Simple with a few great extras. i use mine on a Dual 1.8G lappie with all the video files on an external drive - and it works great.
