Hi,

Is there anyway of using the GP750 gyro without the gain wire? as I would like to free up a channel for other things, all I want is my gyro set in heading lock at one setting but without the gain wire connected the gyro does not initialize, cheers.

Kevin.

If you want to connect something else you could use a Y harness.

Don't think you can do this with the GP750.
What could be more important to add than removing gain?

Hi, I'm adding a Helicommand into my Bell 222 fuselage and only have a DX7 so I wanted to free up the gain channel for the pilot channel off the Helicommand as i've already got retracts and strobe lights using all the free channels looks like I'll have to try the gyro built into the Helicommand as that can be set through the PC at one gain, but I rather use the GP750, very good gyro.

Aaaahhh.....I see now. I just went through the same issue with the helicommoand Rigid but did not want to give up the GP750 so I had to buy the X9303. I was told that the tail gyro in the HC Rigid was not as good as the gy401 and or much less the GP750.

I didn't give the tail gyro in the HC a chance so it may sound not fair to say it won't work right. You should try it with the DX7 and report back.

An added idea...I went ahead and put the lighting system on a seperate 9V battery on/off switch instead of the onboard from the receiver, that could free up a channel. Or use a "Y" connector for the lights to share from the receiver.

I did find out that the GP750 will not work in HH without a value signal in the gain wire lead.

Good Luck and report back with results or PM me.

Thanks for the reply, I also thought about putting the lights on a battery and switch, but think I might put them on a Y lead with the retracts so when they go up the lights come on, soon as its finished I'l let you know about the Helicommand gyro but its going a bit slow at the moment waiting for the PC link for Helicommand, should be here in the next few days.
