I was out flying today and on my last flight I had the tail blow out two times. The first time I was flying inverted backwards and the tail swung around. The second time I was doing a very high forward loop and at the top of the loop the tail spun around. I can understand backwards, but not forward. Could this have been a gyro glitch, or a sign that something is about to go out. This is on my 700N with a BLS251 tail running the tail server on 5.4V. The hardware is smooth, and the nothing looks loose.
Could this be an init issue with the gyro? Should I try again?
Thanks
Joe

It would be nice if they made a low cost 2 axis v-bar so we could use a better tail gyro like the Spartan.

Post your settings,

or PM me and I will take a look at it.

My Vbars (with new settings) holds and works equal with Solid-G & Spartan...
That said, T700N is the one of the worst heli to start with since it has low main -> tail rotor ratio compared to others, so wrong settings will affect that heli much more.
(I got two T700, one E and one N so I have played alot with it)

It has to be something in the VBar. I could see a slow tail rotor without enough authority letting loose in backward inverted. But swinging around from forward flight to backwards with no input?

No other glitches just the tail? Probably wasn't a radio glitch either.

Edit: Yeah, from forward to backward, a glitch for sure, I missed that one.

For anyone want to look at my setup, here it is.

WTF, That has to be a glitch. Was it 180 exactly, and has it been replicated, and did it hold in the bkwd flight that ensued?

I love my vbar tails, theyre "perfect"

It actual went past 180. It was more like a 240. I did not fly it anymore because I wont to make sure everything is fine before I try it again.
The sensor cable is still tight. I have seen people us hot glue on there wires. I may do this.

Dude... from forward to backward is one hell of a glitch.

I used hot glue on the sensor connector myself after I noticed that it almost fell off the flight before.

Mine did fall off during its first flight.
Interesting last 30 seconds to that flight
I just use a really thin piece of plastic coated wire in a loop around the V-Bar unit and between 2 of the wires on the plug.
aint never going to come out again unless I remove the securing wire first.

I came from a Spartan and feel like the V-bar tail is as good if not better than the Spartan. It's been a while since I've flown a solid-g but from what I can see from others' setups the V-bar tail is the best.

If your tail is blowing out from forward flight, I'd look for cuts in wires, a failing tail servo, or broken solder tabs.

I would say its rather different from a spartan. Not better, not worse but different in feel. Kinda reminds me a logictech although the vbar has definitely better capabilities than that one. The spartan is more linear from center to full throw. Both hold the tail perfectly. I haven't tried Spartan's V2 yet but it should be interesting.

V2!! Spartan has a new version. Is it all new hardware or new firmware for the DS 760?

Man come on MiniBar or my wife might just kill me if I get both

I found the issue. It was hardware. I have a Quick UK tail on my heli and the set screw that holds it on wore out and the shaft was starting to spin. Unfortunately I found it because I took off yesterday and did a piro and when I stopped the heli just kept spinning and I crashed. Lucky I hit Throttle hold so mostly it was my tail boot, blades, and a few other small items. Thank you for the help.

Hep that is what mine looked like. I guess I will check this set screw on every flight. Are you guys using other products?
