i have about 4 gallons thru my rex and i just changed some electronics, new gyro and servos all around and a new reciver crystal now i changed my crystal cause my friend is running same channel, now i flew most of the day and everything great the second to last flight i was about a foot off the ground hovering and i heard the blades chatter <-- like i was banging the sticks and it went nuts, i put it right down i cant tell if it was interference or not when i put it on the bench i noticed that the blades had play at the head, took the blades off and everything tight and in place (bearings and spacers) three more flights same thing when hovering almost dumped it, i pulled the soft shaft again and checked the dampers the grey ones were in and had a decent amount of play i had the black ones that came with the kit that say for 3d use? i put them in and its nice and snug now so ... big question befor i go test tomorrow does anyone know if the grey dampers could have worn out that fast and caused this to happen? any ideas thanks guys

YES
You can also mix-match colors! The grey are jist to soft and wear to fast{I wore out a set in one day} There are three differant durometer ratings 70-80-90. 80 seem to last. Align has a sleave which removes some of the load on the damperners and it comes with 90d which are fairly hard

I had to put extra spacers on my Pro, even with the black dampers installed... because I could pull the whole feathering shaft side to side. . My problem wasn't nearly as severe as what you described when I spooled it up though. In fact, it was fine in flight but it would 'woof' like crazy. Strangest thing because it didn't effect my tracking at all that I've noticed. With the additional spacers put in, it works like a champ.
