If you mean when you turn it on and are in HH and the Heli is not spooled up, blades not turning, it is normal for the pitch slider to go to one side. It will move when you spool up and it is looking to correct the torque of the Heli. If you put it in rate mode with the blades not turning it should center.

I did check that i have about 8 towards the boom so the blades are not centered . Should i set up again ?

The tail will move when setting still, not spooled up. The Solid G on all of my helis do that plus the VBAR also does it. You can't believe everything you read.

VtJeep.

first things first. With a gyro , especially with a HH , remove ALL electronic trim. radio trim AND subtrim must be at zero.

Remember its the gyro that runs the tail pitch , you only ask the gyro to move the tail. So the radio must be centered ( requesting NO movement of the tail )

Remove 2 wires from between your motor and esc.( I assume you have a brushless ). Power up the tx and then heli. Watch the lights on the gyro. Once the gyro is set and ready , remember where the heli is pointed. Now yaw the heli and watch the slider. is it moving back and forth as you pass the heading the heli was on ? If yes then the gyro /servo is working properly.( you do want to pay close attention to the WAY it moves .. as to check for a reversed servo)

if no , then something is wrong .. perhaps gyro programing , or bad gyro ... bad servo could be the problem also ..

I say pay less attention to what it does on the ground and more to what it does in the air. If you spool up does it hold? Personally, as long as the equipment isn't showing signs of failure, my heli's tail could do the hokey pokey all it wanted to on the ground if it flew like a champ.

My CY gyro creeps on the the ground, spool it up and it's solid.

Damn that ground is hard! When's the right time to get out of this money sucking hobby?

Gyro type
Radio Type.....

Always give as much detail as you can, chances are some member here will have the experience to 'talk' you through the setup process.

Sounds like as mentioned before, HH mode with gyro looking for center....but this might not be the case.

Big tip of the day....make sure to fit training gear ie a hoop or something to the skids....I cant overstate just how important this is when checking out a new heli with new setup etc....one horrible incident will easily see the heli on its side...dying fitting the training gear/base will help prevent tears of frustration

Quality takes........time!

This sound screwy, what is the difference if the heli is spooling or stationary?

How does the gyro know it is spooling?

It should be at it's holding center wether or not it is spooling....

How does it know not to creep when it is spooling? Is there a rev sensor on this gyro , like no other? Is it slaved to the throttle?

Something smells like BS here. Either it's locked or it's not.

Technical explanation please, straight from CY.

Why Hover a Yak, when a Heli does it better?

The difference is when the heli is on the ground, no amount of moving the tail around makes the heli yaw so the gyro might try harder to get it to. In the air, when the gyro corrects, the tail will actually go where it's expected to.

This is just a guess mind you, but the only explanation that makes sense to me.

Really? I have never had a heading hold gyro 'creep' to either side. I do not own a CY but would like a technical explanation if they are somehow different. Please
