It overheated because it draws more then 25 amps. You need to go up to at least a 35 amp ESC or more if possible.

Look at your LVC 15V

I just started running this esc. I haven't had any issues with cutting out at all, nor overheating. I'm running it on a Scorpion 2208-3600kv motor on a 15T @ 90% flat curve. Its no-where near enough amps drawn to overheat the esc.

You might consider that your LVC(low voltage cutoff) is set too high. During high amp draw conditions like sustained backflips or tictocs, you might drop your voltage too low and it will procede to cutoff. I believe the PCT(program cut type) default is set to *cut power to 50% of full power. This would explain why you regained power before hitting the dirt. It cut the power to 50%, then as you were going in, the voltage came up fast enough above the LVC to repower your motor back up enough to land without crashing.

Hope this helps~
Rick

Hey Mech,

Were did you acquire that 25amp scorpion? In another post you mentioned running it in gov mode, I would like to hear how easy it was to setup and how it worked?

Ordered it from Innov8tive.com

http://www.innov8tivedesigns.com/pr...products_id=374

The IR programmer makes programming a sinch. I thought it was going to be more difficult that it really is. The programming card and IR attachment come with the ESC. All you do is plug the ESC lead (throttle) into the IR programmer, then the IR programmer lead into the Throttle channel of the Rx. The IR-P has a switch on it which allows the user to program the setting desired, then flip the switch from IR mode to PPM mode to test the settings in flight while the IR is attached. Once you have the settings you want and you intend to leave it like that, remove the IR attachment and install the throttle lead from the ESC back into the Rx. Simple!

The programming is so easy. This is my first Scorpion ESC and its well worth the money I paid for it!

hi S76 Mech

pct is 1+.....cut 50% of maximum power-------------------------------------- 2......no cut just led warning--------------------------------------- 3......pulse warning.............

what should i set it to....2.....no cut out
also are you running in gov mode........i am just running it in SS.1 not gov mode................is it better in your appinion to run gov mode.........and to set pitch at 0% under 50 stick....100% flat in all modes and start up with throttle hold........i did this on a 450 i had but it did not suit it.so took it back to normal mode.....kind regards helinelly

if it broken.....glue the bast#$d...keep flying..i tell the wife my crashes cost £20! works for me

IMHO, yes! It keeps the H/S consistant, less bogging.

Mine is on SS(2). Gov is on(3) which is hard, I believe (2) is default. Running 90% flat T/Curves on a 15T.

ok, post your questions one at a time, its easier to understand.

- yes, leave it alone 50% power cut is fine, but that is your option, whatever you like better or whatever works best for you.

- not sure what you mean by thr hold method and 0 pitch? Are you talking about taching your headspeed at 0 pitch? I just set my t/c to 90% flat across the board. Then set my Governor to (3) and its holding fine. I believe the directions tell you to do exactly this. Your flat curve determines what H/S you want to run, all the Gov function does is hold it at that speed.

I just got a couple flights on my new scorpion 25a . It seems that my tail shake is gone. Im have yet to put the 3900 motor on. I thought I would try one thing at a time. What are you guy's settings with the 25a?

Any chance of your settings helinelly?

Am I right in assuming that with the Scorpion Commander 15V 25A ESC V2 you get the IR programming card & receiver in the box?

hi guys,,,,yup its the v2 here's my settingsfor good 3d

pct......#2.....no cut just led warning....
mat......#1...0.15sec
ss.......#2...gov mode soft start
tim.......#1 auto
gov.......#3 hard
all the other settings are default
normal,,,,,0,50,100,100,100
idle 1......strieght 100% curve same at idle 2

in normal mode you must make sure on spool up that at half stick you have 0% pitch,,,other wise it wont reach max headspeed and you must wait the full 15sec's before flight....you can go into idle 1/2 on the ground or in flight at this stage.....
backflips and tictocs are perfect with this scorpion 25a,,,it hardly drops at all in 3d moves....and never gets hot......

hope this helps regards helinelly

if it broken.....glue the bast#$d...keep flying..i tell the wife my crashes cost £20! works for me
