I have just received my Kontronik Jive 80 HV and I’m fitting it to my 3DMP which is Jan’s spec but with JR 8700G on the tail.
I noticed that in the instructions Kontronik recommend I install an Rx battery pack as well as using the BEC (which is at the default voltage).
Is this “ JUST ” to play safe or do you think the system really needs it?
If I really do need to add a battery pack what Mah would I need?

What are you doing with yours?

Andy.

Jive

No need for another rx pack...the BEC in the jive works very well...I know alot of guys are even running 8717's off the stock Bec with no failures...

.90 sized, 710 blades, flybarless, hard 3D, JR8717, running off Jive BEC, no issue, several machines.

Just run double cables to be sure and share the load since one servo cable is very thin for the amp needed. (use both master and slave connection on the Jive)

Gone fishing..or hunting..or something

Mel, are you saying I can use one cable from master to my receiver and one cable from slave to my HeliCommand? (It has a battery input port on it)

I have bought a small Eneloop 4.8V AAA pack, it can't hurt and is very small and light.

I hate any excess weight and have never had a Jive bec fail(I always use 2 power cords). Been using them for quite a while now.
