Although I'm sure to be raked over the coals, I still would like to know if this is fact or fiction. Time has passed...things have settled...all parties involved have had sufficient time to put the proof out there.

So?? Fact or Fiction?????

..........there I was, out of altitude, airspeed, and ideas.......

That pretty much sums it all up, doesnt it?

lol...exactly what I thought. I'm just too naive to think companies must be accountable to their claims.

Last thursday I was able to acheive for the first time a 49 minute flight while doing some real estate pics. Job was a flop because my canary died of fatique. I knew i should have tried my parrot but the CG was way off and he didn't like the way I strapped on his front mount.

Mine will fly for over an hour when I clean the blades with a 50/50 Magic Rotor Spray/409 mix.

Just another used car salesman approach. Which I honestly don't understand because it really hurts your overall business in the long run.

Got a Corona 120 to do it using a 4Ah battery in high wind & no payload. It damaged the battery. Once again, it could be designed with high efficiency fixed pitch blades, no flybar, low head speed, & minimal reserve power but the market isn't there. People want aerobatics & maneuverability. Alan Szebo doesn't sell T-Rexes by flying marathons.

This is the night version of the GSRE I fly.
SPECS. Heli weight 14.8 lbs. Mount weight 5.8 lbs.
710mm night blades
107mm night tail blades
12 tooth pinion 88 tooth main 7.3 ratio
4035-300 motor
4- 6000mah Pro lite packs run as 10S for a total of 12,000mah on board
Pro1Lite camera mount setup with Thermalcam 5.5 lbs.

Video shot at 40 degree temps with 10mph winds. Safe flight time in these temps. 25-27 minutes

27 minute flight consumed 8800mah with 3.6 volts per cell at the end of the flight. Batteries were about 2 years old but like all the TP packs we fly still work like new.

To exceed 30 minutes you do need JR high lift 790mm blades and temps above 60 degree's from my experience which doesn't let the batteries get cool to lose performance.

I'm not a salesman for this motor bit do give it a A+ compared to other brands. At the end of the flight the motor/ESC were hardly warm to the touch with the batteries having no temperature at all. I run a typical throttle curve like the gasser does.

28.2mb clip
GSRE 710mm

I can't help but wonder why you wouldn't just post a 35 min clip with the "JR High Lift 790mm" blades.

35 mins plus on a 20.8 pound heli complete with flight data would be very impressive.

I'd say this is close enough. That flight time is impressive with the setup at those ambient temps. Thanks for sharing Airfoil. Nice machine.

Impressive, but probably the most boring clip on the web I bet flight duration will be extended if gentle forward flight is involved (translational lift).

Great vid but I'm slightly baffled on the air temperature. Why would you get longer flight times at 60 rather than 40 degrees? I always thought that with the colder the air, the more lift you would get. Would this not offset the battery temperature?

Thanks for posting

I was watching the video, grooving to T-Rex and thought 'good sound track' until I realized it was my own media player playing some of my old albums (had been muted). After 3 minutes I just fast forwarded, clicked off and listened to some music. Did anyone actually watch the whole thing?

Long flight though...

So in closing: Low KV motor, parallel batteries ( > 12000maH), and ESC tuning. Don't forget to factor in translational lift.

Very cool, kinda makes me want to convert my GSR over...

I'm really curious to know where all the armchair-pilots are? You know, the ones that were attacking you like a bunch of grade-shcoolers? Funny how that works...

Have to give credit for supplying the video.

So with no in flight data (which I thought a company that does so much testing would have) it looks as if your 20lb heli swinging 710's avg. 326mah per minute. So following the 80% rule you could fly 29-30mins. That is impressive no matter what.

How hard is it to auto a 20lb heli on 710's?

What would the flight times be do you think swinging 800's, more or less?
