I'm in the process of resetting my throttle on a model and got curious about the different methods of throttle setup out there...

So, I was curious to know what the concensus is on how successfull your setup method is.

I have been using Ray's method (start throttle ATVs at 70, digital trim at full low, set servo arm 90* to pushrod with pushrod on inner-most hole on the throttle arm, set stick to high/100% throttle, set carb to WOT and adjust throttle arm so pushrod aligns with servo ball, then goto low stick and check to see if pushrod overshoots servo ball by 1-1.5mm allowing the carb barrel to open just enough to idle, adjust ATVs and high stick/WOT settings accordingly)

or Ron's method: http://www.ronlund.com/throttle.htm

Ron's method seems to make sense to have the throttle operation take into account the operating characteristics of the motor, but I'm not so sure that Ray's method doesn't.

BTW, I'm not running a govenor.

Any debate?
