Was out doing some barrel rolls yesterday with my newly rebuilt 450 and said to H#LL with it. Did my first flip

It wasnt real smooth and it was very quick, more like a flop but I did it. Next time I will work on a more smooth approach...

It the bird didn't crash, and your shorts aren't soiled, it was a 100% success.

Doing new stuff the first few times is just getting over the terror.

After that you can work on style.

Out of interest, whas it a forwards or backwards flip? I started doing backwards flips but now find forwards flips alot easier.

Really? I find that intersting! Most people I know including myself feel backwards are more natural and easy. I think it stems from plank flying with an inside loop is easier and more natural than an outside loop.

It was backward flips. Did a few more today and was a little easier on the cyclic. Real smooth high loops. No I did not soil my pants..

So your a flopper

I remember doing my first flips. I actually started doing front flips first simply because if I made a mistake at least the bird was going away from me and not coming towards me. The biggest thing for me was just slowing down my thought process and being more smooth rather than just slamming the sticks.

It's a complex, costly, glow powered anti-gravity machine!

He didn't soil himself, but he almost pissed himself after nearly hitting the telephone pole and powerlines!!! His hands were sweaty - but I was just as excited as he was! Good Job!
Adios!

My first flip was pretty nerve racking too.Had to set'r down and let my hands stop shaking. It was a back flip.

My first front flip attempt was disasterous. My cousin asked to see the Helicommand work so I flipped it on and tipped'r forward to do an inverted hover.Hmmmm.....forgot the idle up.Hit it but too late.Panicked a little and smashed the crap out of it.

Congrats on your flipping out dude
