Do you mean the new GY520? If you do, it would be the one to get. But between the two you mentioned, the 601 would definitely be better for any heli. There's also an updated 601 called the 611.

Newer mo betta software, updated sensor, the 601 replaced the 502. Go with the 601 if the price is right ($75 or less in very good condition) otherwise just buy a current generation gyro.

Definitely get the GY601, the GY502 will disappoint you.

The solid G is definitely better than the 601 but I would go with the Mini-G. It is Curtis's new gyro and works great even on nitros. I have one in my Rave and my Knight 50. plus they are only $180 bucks retail. If you order it from a certain place you can get it for $162 shipped to CON US.

the 601 will be just fine. not a lot of people can outfly the 601 or even NEED anything better. i have a lot of confidence in my 50 and 90 machines with the 601 when it comes to backwards high speed flight and terminal velocity tail slides.

i have two GY502 Gyro's. both of them were turned into 601's. just a few resistors and a different IC chip make the difference between the two.

both of my 502's are labeled as such, but when they are powered up, they read 601, and they perform as a 601.

check out KCT's gallery for info on this, he did the upgrade for me.
