you dont need the usb right now, program the gyro with the radio, but since you have it, it might be easier to program with the usb.. as for gain i would start around 62-65% on the gy menu..

I didn't have a usb cable and did all of my setup with the radio also... I'am using a DX-7 with a 9256, My gyro menu is 69 witch is about 34% gain.

If you already have the USB link, I would hook it up to make sure you have the latest software downloaded on your spartan.

Ok I'll do that. Does the new software eliminate the need to hold left rudder when binding?

I am pretty sure it does but I would just do it to be on the safe side. Its not something difficult.

Ok got the latest software but having problems entering the programing mode Would appreciate if anyone using a JR DX9 or 9303 can tell me how to configure the radio for the spartan. Saw a finless video with the DX7 but just doesn't work with the DX9.

I sent a PM to Angelos at spartan and within the hour I got a reply explaining what to do. Sure enough it did the trick With this kind of customer support spartan has a customer for life Thanks angelos!

I found the stock settings on my Spartans much too aggressive. I slowed up the acceleration and deceleration gains so that I wouldn't strip gears. The gyro now has a much better "damped" feel than it had before when it would put tremendous load on the tail.

The USB interface (or bluetooth) is the only way to change these settings.

Do a Google search for Bert Kammerer's Spartan setups for the Align ships. I loaded his program into my Spartan on a 600N, set the endpoints, and it was just about as perfect as one could ask for. Awesome gyro.
