Hi guys:

Got a B400. Nice little heli, even being stock.

I've read recommendations to lube the belt with silicon or similar lubricant. The question I have is how should I do it. Some say just to squirt using a spray can but I think that might put silicon all over the tail mechanism and could make the belt slip easier on the pulleys.

Other technique I've used to apply lubricant to the belt is use a Qtip and apply lubricant just to the flat surface of the belt.

Anyway, your advice will be appreciated.

Thank you very much.

David

i just spray it behind/infront of the silver belt guide on the tail housing. The belt will not slip, as the gears have notched groves for the under side of the belt. Well... i should add that this is my experience anyway.

I use a cheap brand of silicone spray from Wal-Mart. :-)

Thanks for the explanation.

Do you go all over the belt length by rotating the blades?

Thanks.

set the heli on the ground, spool it up slowly (about 20rpm) and spray short blasts till the whole belt is covered. takes about 15 sec this way, and you'll have it all coated.

What are the benefits? I've had mine for over a year with no issues and my belt is bone dry.

ive found longer belt life with the spray. plus, flying a 500, static may become an issue, so it was easy to spray all my helis.
