2200 packs Zippy and flight power. 3S. Also i just ran the epa's out to 150% and the curve out to 125. That puppy has power. I think i may need to do a rest on the ESC. Does anyone know how to do that? Thanks

what size pinion are you running? I found that running a 14T pinion gives it a lot more power than running on 13T does. This is for a Beam E4, same gear ratio as a t-rex

that would be your problem. When I ran the 500TH on 13T it was pretty bad, but when I switched to 14T it was great. I can't imagine how badly it would run with a 12T

The info card says on a 13 T it should turn 3000 rpm. Is there something not correct about there info card or is the MT gear that different that we need to use a 14T pinion?

I just put the 15 T on and the headspeed is terrible. Its so bad the heli will wobble with 100% TC

Okay. I bumped the timing to hard timing as per the jgf web site. That did help it. They say that some china esc's wont work very well with there motors. I think this is my problem. Im not sure if im gonna run it like this or send it back. Or maybe get another esc.

Get a better esc now or later you will be doing it anyways, that motor is fine, as mentioned get the gearing right and everything before it and it will be fine.

What ESC are you running? I'm running the 500TH with 14T in my Trex and it produces very nice power. When I'm ready, I'm going to change the timing to high timing (it's on mid right now) and put on a 15T pinion. Make sure you have some good lipos though, with a 15T pinion, it'll pull some serious amps but the power is absurd (for a 3s setup anyway).

Watch at YouTube

This is a beam with 14T pinion, you can imagine the performance on 15T if your batteries are up to the task.

In the video, a CC35 is being used, it's also what I used on my 450.

Quantom,
Youre a maniac. Thats some awesome flying. CC35 you say. I might try it. Does the esc get hot? How about the batteries? How long are you flying? Batteries?? Thanks

LoL, thanks I guess, but that ain't me flying (does that mean you'll rescind the complement? )

ESC never gets hot, BUT, I am using one of the older ESCs that only had a 1.5A BEC. Consequently, I have a separate BEC to power the servos (which happily puts everything at 6v so my servos are fast (for a 450 anyway)). Before the BEC, the ESC would get warm, but never hot, now it stays at ambient. The newer ones have 3A BECs (I think, don't quote me on that, I'm sure someone knows). The batteries only get warm after 5 minutes of flying. I'm running a 14T pinion and using mid timing and running flat 100% curves. After 5 minutes, I'm only pulling out 1300mah out of each pack, so I could easily push it to 7.5 minutes. The only reason I don't is because one of my packs is really sh!tty. And starts to swell in just 5 minutes of hovering. I have 9 packs total so it doesn't bother me (total of 45 minutes of flying time, no need to stretch the packs to the limits).

1 Align 2100 (this is the sh!tty pack)
4 TP Extreme V1s 2-2070s and 2-2200s (I use these to work on non demanding maneuvers (inverted hovering, hurricanes, funnels, anything that doesn't require much pop)
4 TP Extreme V2s 2200s (I go to work on these packs! And they just pull through everything!)

When I get better, I'll sell the V1s and Align and get some more V2 (or V3's if they're out by then).

I hope that answers your questions!

Hey, that's my video! Thanks for posting Quantum

Its actually a Jazz ESC running a 14T in that video. The ESC does not get hot, motor stays cool, and batteries are just warm(115*F) I get easily 4 minutes running on a 14T pinion.
