Why does my jgf 500 th not come up to speed? I just changed it out with the stock motor and it puts out enough power to hover but thats about it. I put the stock MT motor back in and all is well. Whats the deal with this motor? Thanks in advance.

I have not tried anything but the stock motor in my MT,but do you need to change any of the esc settings for that motor, such as timing or throttle sensitivity?

Youre probably right Fender. Heres what i have and what i did. Sorry about the double post. Its a frustrating feeling.

2200 packs Zippy and flight power. 3S. Also i just ran the epa's out to 150% and the curve out to 125. That puppy has power. I think i may need to do a rest on the ESC. Does anyone know how to do that? Thanks

the only typo that I know of is "flying mode" or governor, the correct setting for NO gov is #3.the rest are good

just to be safe you may want to disconnect the motor, because to get into programming mode you need to have the throttle at full stick then plug in the esc.I have done it with the motor connected and it didn't do anything just went into prog mode, but its better to be safe.if you have any questions let me know.

do you know what the settings for the JGF are supposed to be?

I think you may just need to calibrate the throttle.the rest of the setting you can leave at factory default

try the calibration procedure, then do a test hover and see if its any better

its 3380. I just set all the modes. What is the difference between the auto timing, hard timing...etc.....?

well thats the issue right there.at 3380 with the same pinion you are going to get less headspeed.

I have mine set to standard timing.I read you get hotter performance with high timing(or "hard" but it really ups the draw on the batts

standard is good for all around flying

I guess i didnt realize how much difference the motor would be. Im gonna throw a 15 T on tonight and set the timing to Standard. Hopefull that helps.

I made the changes to 15 T and std timing. All else was the same as we have already discussed. This motor is horrible. I think im gonna send it back and get the se motor for the MT. I cant stand this power loss. I need headspeed. It was so slow that the heli started wobbling and that is with idle up 100% throttle curve.

Okay. I bumped the timing to hard timing as per the jgf web site. That did help it. They say that some china esc's wont work very well with there motors. I think this is my problem. Im not sure if im gonna run it like this or send it back. Or maybe get another esc.
