A friend is looking into buying a new R30 V2, he has been told to buy the bearing upgrade kit for about £20. I take it that the bearings are to replace plain bushes, can you tell me where these bearings are fitted and if they are necessary for someone that just flys around in a scale like manner.

Well a BB kit if its not the 49bb setup will make everything more precise and with less slop. Slop will make any helicopter fly like crap no matter how you fly it.

I understand that, it's just that I'm not familiar with the Raptor or this upgrade bearing kit. Was wondering if anyone was familiar with it and where the bearing went, ie. washout and mixers arms perhaps.

Ki-gas yes those areas and others where there is bushes like the aileron arms and elevator arm etc. Like BH said it's a very worthwile upgrade to do to make it a better flying and long lasting heli.

Oh No Someone Please Stop Me Before I Go Broke With This Heli Thing!!

OK, thanks for your reply. Thought the V2 would have had bearings in those locations.

The Raptor-30 is sold in a 'sport' kit with 29 ball bearings and a 49 ball bearing "Pro" kit. The BB upgrade kit adds the bearings to the 'sport' kit where bushings are included in the kit. These are the small bearings in a number of control pivot points.
