Yes it certainly is a kalt baron. I never owned one but have seen them and i think this is the 20 but i cant say for certain as im only going from what i remember of them.

If it doesnt move and its meant too... use WD 40. If it moves and its not meant too...use duct tape!

Yep, Baron 28. Still have mine, but are in need of restoration. If ever you decide to get it flying, a word of warning to prevent catastrophic inflight failure with this model. Do not fly it with the original plastic Kalt tail rotor blades. They had a bad habit of cracking and departing. Also, make a tubular shim to fit onto the tail rotor shaft. It needs to go on the shaft, between the tail rotor hub and the bearing in the gearbox. This is to prevent the shaft from having any in and out play, preventing the tail rotor gear box from blowing up in flight. Lastly, there is room to install a thrust bearing in the blade grip(s). All the centrifugal force loads are unfortunately imposed onto one radial bearing in the grip, even though there are two radial bearings. The bearing will eventually fail, and cause an extreme out of track condition. Can't remember off hand if one of the radial bearings get replaced with the thrust bearing, or if both radials remain with the addition of the thrust bearing. Just my experiences from the 80's with this otherwise fine machine.

I had a Kalt Baron 20. It had natural aluminum frames and boom, and a yellow plastic canopy. I acquired a second Baron that had the same box with a "28" sticker slapped over the 20. Don't recall if it also had the natural frames or the black ones. Both were collective pitch.

Baron 20 it is!

I agree it is a 20. I have 3 of them and one 60
One of my 20s is flying. I've added auto rotation, metal clutch, Bell/Hiller mixer and carbon main blades. Pluss I gave it a brand new OS32F Pullstart engine from an old Shuttle It flies very smooth and stable. One of the other two is under way of being rebuilt and the third I think, will remain in parts for backup...
Unfortunately the auto hub broke down yesterday. New bearings are ordered and I have to machine a new shaft since it was "eaten" by the one-way bearing... Guess I need an hour on the lathe at work, then!
