None of the helis I've build until now can pretend to reach such a level of quality... FULL STOP

In the air in a few days (once the gyro, the receiver and the battery are delivered)

New pics...

Don't get pissed about the Fromeco pin, I've mistakenly burned my Reactor X regulator so I have to use a spare one, I should get a new one this week...

Nice heli but I'm wondering, what's wrong with the Fromeco regulator?

Fromeco... 9A max
Reactor X... 15A max

With servos like 8717s... the higher amperage allowed, the better...

Where did you get the landing gear? Also, that isn't the stock head is it?

Man, I miss the eighties.

carbon frames, carbon boom, and the old metal EX landing gear if I'm not mistaken, make sure you don't have a hard landing with those, you'll bend them..

BTW, what's the all up weight?

Totally incorrect - you are misreading the Arizona specs! The Arizona is good for a tad over 17A running 6V on a 2S lipo, with no forced air cooling (give it moving air, and it will do even more . . . ).

Straight from the Fromeco specs on their site:

http://www.fromeco.org/Products/02F...02/Default.aspx

The thing which has confused folks in the past (and appears to still be doing so) is that Fromeco has rated the Arizona in terms of wattage. But the rating is in terms of watts *DISSIPATED* and not watts passed!

IE, if you are dropping 2 volts across the regulator, then according to P=IV, you have I=P/V, or I=25/2, or 12A in this example. This also shows why the rating changes based on what output voltage you run . . .

So, from what I can see, the SG Reactor adds nothing to the picture other than a larger hole in your wallet - the price on the thing is absurd!

The head on that model is the stock, included, SSZ-IV head.

Despite the fact that I'm an engineer, I'm not that good in electricity

Where have you get that 25A figure from?

I never said 25 amps - I said 25 *WATTS* is the maximum dissipation of the regulator, which corresponds to a current capacity of up to 20 amps or so depending on what voltage you run and what battery you use (IE, the things that determine the voltage drop across the regulator). The 25 watt figure is as published by Fromeco, and the math is in my prior post . . .

http://www.fromeco.org/Products/02F...ifications.aspx

(Actually, I looked again, and the figure is 28 watts, not 25 with airflow, or 17.8 with no airflow.)

The math I gave earlier is still correct - current carrying is determined by:

I=P/V, where P is either 28 or 17.8 depending on airflow, and V is the voltage drop across the regulator, IE battery voltage minus regulator output voltage.

So, for 6 volts out on a 7.2 volt pack, you have a drop of 1.2 volts, and let's say moving air, so that gives:

I=28/1.2, which gives a max current under those conditions of 23.3 amps.

In still air, the above becomes:

I=17.8/1.2, which gives a max current of about 15 amps.

These figures are shows for various voltages on the Fromeco page I linked earlier, on the graph.

The MA Stratus is a marvel when we do consider parts quality... the Hirobo I've got is also very nice... actually I've not been such emotional when building a kit... HIROBO Powaaaaaaaaaa
