Which blades are you using ?

I tried NHP 800mm looking for alternatives for my video ship ( head is balanced and tracking is perfect still have vibrations , looking for alternative blades to test )

How are V-blades for AP application ?

SAB website doesn't advertise 800mm symmetrical blades. Any idea who is stocking them ?

Any body tried K&S blades? (they make 700mm blades for F3C )

Thanks,
Puneet

Have you tried dynamically balancing the rotorhead by using flybar weights?

I run NHP 800's on a GSR and they are a fine blade. If you're having vibration issues I would probably look elsewhere.

I'm not sure about blade type but this was discussed earlier. Might be worth a try .

I also use NHP on the GSR 260 and have been very happy with the results. I would definitely buy them again. They are very good value for money.

NHP's are good blades. Either you got a set that is not matched (rare) or you have some other vibration issues. Have you checked the balance of the NHP's?

Maybe there is some special "Anti-Vibration" spray that can be applied in conjunction with the Duration Spray.

Try 830mm industrial grade Rotortech's(with yellow tips). They come perfectly balanced, smooth like a glass in the air and generate huge amounts of lift.

windy62:

I have balanced the flybars with weights , but don't know what you mean by dynamic balance of flybars. I have statically balanced. Since Flybars don't swing on their axis. My understanding is that one cannot be different from another. Pls explain the dynamic balance for flybars

nooobs: I will have to confess i have not done dynamic balance of NHP I have checked static balance and they were perfect.I will check dynamic balance !
Blades loosing CG is very strange, if that happens in mid air that can cause serious damage ?

Griffo and borneobear : that is very funny

KarbonBird and PhotoShip One : NHP blades seem to have lot of resistance in my previous experience , have you felt that ?. They don't seem to glide like SABs. I am still to enjoy the experience you have gone through.

U.S.U.L : I don't think I can put 830mm it will hit the tail rotor. I would need to extend the boom and get longer belt. would have loved to do that.

Problems experienced and observations.

- I am experiencing Resonance in spooling up and spooling down 2-3 times. ( Hirobo EVO90 head FFZ-III )

- I tried revving the helicopter without blades and there was no shake what so ever , it was very smooth , I didn't pull too much throttle (50% max) as the head spins like crazy unloaded.Tail also felt strong and smooth.

Thanks

This can usually be attributed to having the blades too tight or too loose in the grips.

What is happening is that one or both blades are lagging in the grips (not the same amount) on spool up and spool down, taking the head out of balance.

Are you using the plastic spacer washers that come with the blades? If so, I would suggest tightening down the blade bolts until you cannot move the blades when shaking the heli on it's side.

Then try a very slow spool up, attempting to get up to speed without the blades moving in the grips.

Nooobs comment gave me thought, are your blade bolts 4mm or 5mm, and did you use the brass spacer if the bolts are 4mm?
