UHC - PORTUGAL

That's exactly what I hate about Underslug mount. You can see that the video is vibe free. But once you start to fly fast forward, you get video that move left to right just enough. That definitely needs some stablization, but you are running a risk some of those clip might not be about to be stabilize properly because it sways so often.

What is worse, try to use a Helicommand with a underslug, you can't have the gain higher that 4, or 5, otherwise the sway left to right happens more frequent. Front mount, you can use gain as high as you want.

That's my experience.

With my front mount, it just fly much smoother and The helicopter flys like a normal helicopter.

Takes off nicely and there's not worry about tipping off during take off in high wind and auto rotate without flipping over.

Jas,

Well said. That has been my experience as well but "I do suck".

So, the conclusion is, if youre picking up speed, or wanna film a pursuit, just forget about underslugs?

At least if youre travelling faster than 20-30kmh...?

No, I think underslungs will work and have seen some impressive flights with them. It just might be that it takes some fiddling with the bungee cords and or setup. I know by getting rid of the top "H" plate on the Air Foil mounts and hard mounting it I saved almost a pound last year.

I'm just not wasting my time to hard mount it to the Maxi because there are so many better mounts out there now, IMHO. PS1 and Traxlite to name a couple. Plus, the new company's have the latest designs and provide real customer service backed by real facts.

The bungee cord method makes it difficult on flight stabilizer in forward flight. Here is another boring ugly clip that is raw and unedited. You can see the tail still needs a little adjusting but notice the roll axis. Without the underslung mount it flys perfect like its on rails. I'll test the hard mounted underslung this week when the Vr360 arrives.

Getting closer, locked the roll axis completely, i think it might look even better than with a gyro stab, cause it will follow the same flight pattern the heli is in, and not horizontal all the time...

Need to adjust the tail for waging, other than that i think its getting better, especially on the the straight forward flights...

Are you SURE you dont have any relatives in Transylvania? How on earth can you hear that?

According to ETS graph, the lower HS occurs after the tailwag starts, and i assume thats a result of some extra power consumption when tail starts wagging trying to readjust all the time...
It drops about 20-30 rpm during that stage.

Other theories than the tail gain might be to high?

LOL, yea, i think when the tail locks properly, it will actually start to approach something close to usable for video work
