Power and Battery..

Stock motor..most people said OK.. but the better one is Scorpion and I think the best one should be the one Alan Szabo Jr. currently use.
Brand/model? ..just ask Alan

Pinion... 15T good for sport flying and mind 3D but if you're hero of collective management /fine to hard3D
16T upgrade.. good for very fast RPM and for insane3D . But 16T is loose-fit with stock motor shaft(need trick/locktite/special glue)to mount perfect. Before switch from 15T to 16T you need to remove 15T..the easy way to done..I recommend the pinion remover from helidirect

Battery
Align 800mAh Ok.. Outrage or Thunder power better? really?
need experience pilot to share.

ESC
I run 16T with stock motor.. no hot and response good but if you change to stronger power motor.. you really need more Amp. 25A. good fit.

Happy helicopter

Gyro / Servo

the stock gyro/servo Ok for mind 3D.. you need more hard?
401+JR 290g good tail.. 401+Futaba s9257 more weight but better(JR 3500g best in class).
Spartan or MiniG gyro best for save weight/space use with 290g or 3500g will the best match.

Happy helicopter

those parts SAME SAME most of you have

but more..

carbon boom ... to save tail weight from infinityhobby in case of you use the big rudder servo (Futaba s9257 / JR 3500g / Align 520)..
You may need to use the smaller&light weight vertical fin to made good balance weight

Sturdy / hard to break skid
one piece plastic design.. i already test ..very very good
no break every big crash anymore

quicker and stable paddle
I feel the bird flip or roll without resistance and the head speed not much drop as the white one(during hard pitch change)

harder head damper the most solid feel i earn in the 1st flight

save cost item
I found after market parts for save crash cost but work great
..it is maingear and tail blade(helidirect) , i am now interest to try many mainblade(fibre) ..I hope.. will find good economic price but should fly good too.

SEE above item at Trex 250 Tips page..-> this URL

FS I have 288 flights on my setup the only two things I have changed, I upgraded to DS3500G from the DS290G, and I have been trying as many new packs as I can get.

Eflight 800 not so good
Flight Power EVO lite 800 will not fit under Canopy
Align 860 great pack 20C and it flies great
Outrage 800 not so good
outrage 860 about like the align but 10 bucks more?
Thunder Power Pro Power 850 Woo-Hoo 30C!

I am looking forward to some of the new Align Bling

I have outrage 860 30c packs they are great.. Unfortunately nothing to compare them to.. I fly mild 3D nothing crazy like the pros but in constant maneuvers none the less. I can get 5 minutes on a pack and am only putting 590-610Ma back in so a good bit under the 80% mark. Could probably go another 30 secs or so.

I like the TP balance tap as it has a clip for easy removal and secure lock in.

So far my TP pro power 850 30C batteries have the most punch, but they are a bit heavier and you do feel it. It flies like a more powerful and slightly heavier machine with those packs in it. I've always liked thunder power packs the best and these are my favorite 250 batteries.

The align 20C pack seems to be pretty good to me!

My kong power seem to be lowest on my list. Gets hard to do a quick 4 point tic toc with these for some reason. Not so much punch.

Will try more eventually but have only tried those 3 so far. I have two of each.

Why did Align make the cf blade 40mm? Why the fark not 37mm??, that's abit beyond me given the tr issues....

My English not good enought to tell you guyabout this...

from this URL forum
http://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=125362

davidg86 said about the black paddle i recommend above
I ordered the black plastic paddles from helidirect saturday morning and got them today. I twisted them on fairly easy with no aid from CA and just got a test flight in a couple minutes ago. I really like the feel these paddles gave this heli.

These paddles give the 250 more fluid, consistant, and faster roll/flip rates. You can do very smooth and consistant locked in place flips with these for days. For 1.99 I would suggest these to anyone that is trying to speed up there cyclic rates and get a better feel as a whole on there 250.

Also, I bought the helidirect 3D dampeners, but have not tried them yet. All that I can say right now is that they are significantly harder then the stock Align dampeners.

As a side note I'am using the 205d main blades and 37mm tail blades.

Thanks to OICU812 for the find and helidirect for the quick shipment. Now I only wish I would have bought that black landing gear to accent my black paddles.

Happy helicopter

well i hope those weighted tr grips are out soon, as well I certainly hope they made the cf tr blades in other lower sizes as mentioned, rather then 40mm......

Alans motor is chrome for sure. Look at the GP750 gyro he is using, the chrome part of the gyro also looks black. The chrome color of the motor simply reflects the black color of the desk.

I think Alan said the Chinese weights don't make much of a difference on the new tail blade grips. Still cool none the less, I knew there was a reason I didn't try any CWM yet

I just got my 250 about 2 weeks ago and let me tell you, I really like the thing. I am now looking at the CF blades as a definite upgrade. I am going to keep an eye on this thread so the rest of you can do the testing for me on what else I need to get

The CF blades make a large difference. I would highly recommend them if you fly anything over a hover. That sexy taper is irresistible too!
